Ron and Fez are the only reason I ever got XM.  I wasn't able to listen to the buddays when they went to DC.  When they went to XM I was glad I could listen again but was turned off by the whole idea of paying for radio.  That being said, now that I've had it for a while I can't imagine going back to terrestrial radio.  I was driving the wife's car this weekend and I was reminded just how shitty New York radio can be. The music choices are just non-existant.  And while we all make fun of the XM commercials at least they are mercifully short breaks (for now).

Same as a lot of you, only reason I even have this XM unit in my room is Ron and Fez.  I really like O&A but Ron and Fez got me here, period.Not only that, but because of me getting this sub, I added 2 more.  One for my mother and father.So if this merger fucks too much shit up, they will lose 3 subs, not just one.

21 votes and i'm the first pimb!-i'll probably keep it.  i really like R&F, but there are a lot of other good things going for xm that make it worth keeping.  if there are too many negative changes, or as i like to say "it gets all karmazy" i'll cancel in a second.

First of all, I voted for Pee In My Butt.This is whole poll is way too premature.   We don't know that the merger will succeed and if that's the case that R&F would go.   Now the reason I subscribed to XM is Ron & Fez, no question.  But I agree with a few earlier commentst that regular commercial radio is awful.  That would lead me to keep the subscription.What would turn me however is commercials on the music stations.  That's the hidden bonus of satellite radio...you take that from me (along with R&F) and you can consider me cancelled.

It's going to be a really difficult call for me. Ron & Fez is the only show I listen to and I'd be pissed if they aren't kept, but at the same time I love the music channels and the MLB coverage. That's why I hate this merger so much...Sirius brings nothing to the table for me. Their tech sucks, and I could not care any less about Stern, the NFL (It's on once a week, I can manage watching) and the NBA. What it will probably come down to is how quick they hike the price and whether the SEC makes them cap prices as a condition on it, or whether this ends up like cable with a 5%-10% hike or so each year

Please excuse the language,  but this merger has fiired me up more than any "business section" news story has ever fired me up before... I swear to god if this merger shit makes the INNO I bought myself for christmas 2006 becomes a heavy,  small memory, obsolete for satellite, wanna be ipod...i will beat the shit outta mel karmizian... if this means that i have to upgrade in order to belong to the new service, i will be so pissed.  i went to best buy today and even the small sirius unit was 2.5 times the size of my INNO, and from what i hear, it has a ton of dead spots when you're driving... i will pay more for if needed r&f and o&a (r&f gets top billing for me) but i don't want hoo hoo or bubba or any of that shit anywhere near my reciever...     I can't imagine how much money both companies are losing during this transition period.  If I were a new consumer I would be scared to buy a new unit.  Will It work in a year when (and if) the deal goes through?  Will I have to pay more?  Even before my original deal is up?  Will my reciever (XM or SIRIUS) work in a year?  Will I get the programing I like?  Will I still Hear the Talent I like?   Am I the only one who hopes that this deal will die at the FCC?  Am I the only one who wants the government to win? (thats a first...)   Am I the only one who wants two companies?, with some honest competition?     I hope this all works out with the consumer in mind... I hope this isn't a disaster...

I'm thinking that Howard and his crew will have their own channel, AFRO will have it's own channel.  It wouldn't make sense for a cable company to only have one sports station because they want to stack the ratings, would it?

Since the combined service will be broadcast to both kind of recievers and I highly doubt the show or the channel will go away I'm pretty sure I'm going to keep my XM. If by chance they did end up losing their xm sirius gig, yes I would drop the service.

I had XM a few years before RnF made the move over.  The only thing that will make me drop satelite radio is if they get rid of commercial free music or let their DJs talk over the songs like they do on regular radio.  I can't stand that.

I almost voted yes, then remembered what New York radio sounded like, then remembered how glad I was to have the myfi for my recent half a week in Mississippi (that's when you REALLY need satellite radio).  Also sometimes I drive the 18 hours to MS and without satellite????????  Never again. Woo hoo!!! 300 posts!!!

This really can't be good even if they do keep all the shows we love.  In no time you'll now have to pay for services like MLB and NFL as you do with Directv.  Mark my words this move is shit just as MLChris and Walter stated earlier.  And now that both the shows I like to listen to are on Free FM, I would definitely leave XM if they were dropped.  I bought my receiver for R/F and O/A.  But I didn't get it until the whole AFRO team was back together.  Love the buddies and they were the ultimate reason for the 5 year script and expensive unit.  Easily worth it when they're on XM, not even close when they're not.

Im torn.  I hate regular radio, but I havent been to excited about xm's play lists lately.  The top 20 channels are garbage and the classic shannels are just getting beat.  It will def. depend on if the price goes up.

There is no way I would keep my XM subscription without Ron and Fez unless the monthly price goes down.  I only listen to 3 or 4 other channels on the whole platform so I can't see myself paying $150 a year for those channels without RF.

Having a personality similiar to Kenny Allen's I like to pretend  that my entire subscription goes directly to Ronny B. While I like O&A and some of the music channels, if R&F were off XM I would dump XM and go back to listening to music via mp3's and catching downloadable O&A shows.

I will be extremely upset if R&F are bounced as a result of this merger.  I'll continue to listen to them through Paltalk or whatever means necessary if that happens.  But the subscription to XM/Sirius will still be worth it if you're a sports fan.   The combined service will have all major college conferences, as well as the pros.
