Its not just an "all-star game". Its a week of events that culminates in 3 nights of heavy, heavy activity for the cops, for traffic, and for the airport. Its too much for us because we don't have the infrastructure. That, combined with the violence that follows when so many people pour into town over 7 days and nights, takes us beyond our capacity. Thats why the criticism of the weekend is completely justified. Our town was made for betting ON SPORTS, not for being the home for a team. The NBA holds a single game here every now and then and they go very well because its not All Star Week, which resembles the two-week duration and atmosphere of the Super Bowl.
