View Full Version : How do the midnight replays work?
monkeyhouse

I've been listening to Ron and Fez way since back when they were Ron and Ron.

I love their show on XM but I can't listen during the day. I have my myfi setup to record from midnight to three am.

However, it seems like I never get complete shows and the pad data doesn't always match up. I never seem to hear the show intro ever either.

Does anyone know exactly how they're doing this now? I hate to miss anything.

If you are missing portions, just leave a 5-10 minute buffer at the beginning and end of the show.

Welcome to the monkeyhouse, monkeyhouse. How much of the show are you missing? How long has this been happening? As for the pad data, I wouldn't expect too much on the replays.

They play em, you listen. It's pretty straightforward.

If you are deleting what are labeled as commercials before listening (so you can fly conveniently through show content without interruption), you might be deleting show segments. It's not your fault. Earl just sucks. Many many times the show segments are labeled with advertiser names and I've deleted those by accident.

Don't forget about daylight savings as well. My Inno still has the wrong time. BUT if I update it online, they will also disable the FM transmitter capabilities, so screw it. Now I record from 11pm to 2am, instead of 12 to 3. Not a big deal.

Just to clarify, forget about the pad data. Earl is a completely worthless piece of garbage. I've never once had accurate pad data on the replay. Everything is either a commercial or 'Ron and Fez' or 'XM 202'.

i don't think that the midnight replay ever worked. he was always saying that he only had one more silver dollar.

I record every night from 7:30pm~2am and then listen to both shows the next day at work. The problem there is that (today for example) sometimes R&F do a 2 hour block without commercials. That would be great except with my Airware I can't fast-forward / rewind within a track. so if you accidentally skip ahead half way through a 2 hr track you have to listen to the first hour again to get to what you skip. Can anyone with an Inno/Helix/Nexus let me know if you can rewind within a track? The tards at best buy had no clue.

If they simplified it and made it clear We'd all delete the bumpers and commercials and plugs for other programming and only listen to RNF like it was tivo. Sitting in its cradle it will get good reception but without the antenna the service is sketchy. I bought a set of antenna headphones and the service is decent though not perfect

The fast forward would be great on my nexxus. When I listen in my car, I have to use the battery. If I use the cigarette lighter for power, the nexxus turns off when I turn off my car. When I start the car again, the segment I was listening to starts over from the beginning. Since I get in and out of my car about 10 20 times a night, it can be a real pain in the ass. The battery doesn't always make it through a whole work shift, either.

why don't you adjust the power setting? on most of these xm units you can adjust whether or not the unit turns off automatically with the ignition. you should be able to leave it charging and have it still run when you turn the car off since you have battery power. you will have to manually turn it off when you done listening though.
PapaBear wrote:
The fast forward would be great on my nexxus.
