I don't know where else to post this so here goes:

I've been on vacation from work for the past week and applying for jobs. I have applied to probably 60 jobs in the past six days and have not heard a single word from any one of them. It's getting to the point that I will need to find a new job desperately, but I can't seem to get any traction in my search. I'm qualified and willing to take anything reasonable. I have two degrees, one in MIS and one in Political Science and looking for a chance. Any suggestions?

Being a poly sci major myself I knew CT wasn't going to offer me too many jobs.

What exactly is your background and what are you looking to do?

I've also managed retail. I'm looking primarly for a Business Analyst position, but at this point I'll take anything.

I'd suggest going w/ a recruiter.

Nowadays they have access to all the top clients and will probably get you the best deal.

I live in NY but have my name out w/ a recuiting company in CT called Merritt Staffing.

I'm working a job that I'm not in a hurry to leave immediately but I'm entertaining some options.

I can pretty much tell them what kind ajob I'm looking for and how much I'm willing to accept and they shouldnt get in touch w/ me unless it meets that criteria.

You situation seems a little more dire but I'd still look into it.

You also can probably find a recruiter that deals more w/ IT folks and probably narrow down your options.

What we deal with is software designed to automate payment of medical claims for HMOs. Its a IE hosted GUI with a base software that can be mapped to quite a few different platforms.

I basically design "rules" for the software to give the client a desired outcome given the data sent by the doctor/hospital.

I know our sales dept went nuts and got a lot of deals signed recently. We have so many new clients that I predict they will be hiring soon.

If this sounds like something you might be interested in I can keep an eye out for open positions if you want.
