Calling Fez Jimmy Piersall was my choice, but that's too easy. Who is Fez? And who is Dave? Earl?

Okay, I've got it:
Dave: Mark "The Bird" Fidrych
Earl: No-Neck Williams.
Pittsy: John Rocker
Bronx Johnny: Julian Javier.( I just like saying that name ).
And finally, Fez is hmmmm....still thinking about that one.

Wouldn't Dave be Rags. Fezzy could be Billy Beane

I thought Ron was Lefty.
I remember him saying he throws cowbells with Carlton like pinpoint accuracy.

Well, Fez is , uh Fez. There has not been or will be another.
Now, here is my thought. It seems that Lou Gherig was liked and respected by everyone. He was also a huge talent, as is Fez. So, Lou Gherig.

Taking this topic away from the sports world: Ron is the missing, long lost member of The Rat Pack. Fez is Huntz Hall. Dave is Danny Kaye. Earl is Eddie "Rochester" Anderson. Bronx Johnny is Cantinflas, and Pitsy is Jerry Colonna. Ha ha, I went old school on y'all!

billy beane is whoever decided to hire Earl, old cheap vetern.
I have thought about this for a while and I thought Fez is Ted Williams because Fez rarely ever misses on a joke. Nearly every line he says I give out a laugh.
Earl of course is the Jackie Robinson of 202.

I think Fez is Roger Clemens. He can bring the heat. He's a hall of famer. He also likes to take time off like Clemens( starts the seasons late). He also has these alot people he's mad at like Clemens(Red Sox, Yankees).

BLOWHARD you're killing me with the Walt NO-NECK Williams. He lives across the street from me. No way Earl is mean enough to be Walt.
The Blowhard
04-01-2007, 10:48 PM
Damn, Walt Williams is still alive, and he's your neighbor? That's very cool. I remember when the Yanks got Williams, and he was a decent player with a big swing. Tell Walt he has a fan in Brooklyn. As for Earl, maybe we can call him Horace Clarke, who always led the league in practice swings.
BLZBUBBA
04-02-2007, 07:06 AM
Yeah Blowhard...Walt is still kicking. He grew up here and moved back after his career. Not the biggest baseball name from here but the best career. I guess Jimmy Morris "THE ROOKIE" gets the biggest name...for the "kinda hollywooded up" movie. And Jerry Don Gleaton, a former much much much traveled lefthander was best man at my brother's wedding. Not much to do around here during summer but play baseball. Was talking the other day with a friend about how kids don't know what they're missing. We used to play ball for hours each day during the summer. Now? They're all inside under the AC with their video games.

And not to make light tragedy but I'd say Earl seems wired along the lines of Donnie Moore. I could see him being talked in off a ledge if he really screwed up.
Dave? Another David....David Clyde. Who is David Clyde? EXACTLY!
The Blowhard
04-02-2007, 01:33 PM
David Clyde? Holy shit, I remember him! He was a "bonus baby" and I'm pretty sure I saw him pitch in his debut against the Yankees. Wow, that's a blast from the past.

Nailed it Blowhard. Clyde signed for a THEN draft pick record bonus...$125 K. That's 1973 dollars. I had to search that one out. But I remember all the talk when he made his debut. They really talked the kid up. A media blitz. Too much pressure? Most say yes.

And almost forgot Fez. I'm going with Glenn Hubbard for Fez. One word. Beard. Most pics of Fezzie I've seen he's sporting a beard.

Earl is Tony Gwynn...both fat black guys who act white.
Fez is Mario Mendoza. Mendoza had a career batting average of .215 and gave the name to the popular baseball term the "mendoza line". Mendoza line: an informal term used in baseball for a batting average of .200, considered the boundary between extremely poor and merely below-average offensive players. It is the offensive threshold below which a player's presence in the Major Leagues is difficult to justify despite their defensive abilities.
Fez does just enough to keep him the big leagues.
