I've lived in my apt in Jersey City for 17 years. It's in a nice area, lots of brownstones and a park. I don't know WHAT it is, but ambulances and fire trucks go by my apt all the time. Some days it's only a couple of times, others, like today, it's 11 times. EDIT: 12.
I understand I live 4 blocks from a fire station and a block away from a police station. There even used to be a hospital across the park from me (now it's closed and it's going to be-- surprise-- condos). It's just that passed year that I've noticed the increase in emergency vehicles. It's never been this bad and it's driving me CRAZY. The sound of the oncoming sirens grates on my nerves.
Had to get that off my chest.
