the show has definitely taken an extremely uncomfortable turn...Fez does this from time to time, he uses these news bits as a crutch when he is losing it. He'll just launch into them out of no where.

I think Fez has said before that he gets alot of his issues out during the XM show so when he gets to the Free FM show its just easier to go with the flow. Some of the anxiety is released at that point and he can relax into things a bit. (don't quote me on this.... hearsay!)

The Free FM show is also very caller driven, and I think Fez really shines in that setting. :)

The BBC creates shows assuming they will have a very limited run, unlike the US where we try to make shows that will last as long as they make money.

It tends to make British TV a higher quality product IMO. They have to make their point in a more concise, coherent manner than US TV.
