This past Tuesday, 5 guys called in sick at work. It really fucked the rest of us that showed up. Yesterday (Wednesday) 6 guys called out. I got fucked again.

Today it's my turn.

It's a beautiful day, I've got a ton of things to catch up on around the house, and I don't need the stress of covering other people's asses at work all week.

So I'm home but not really enjoying it. Up now, probably nap this afternoon. The most I will probably get done is some laundry, if I'm awake.

someone told. i am now doing someone else's work how took off this week and left things up in the air. i even have to drive out to Queens and look at some site conditions. I am also catching heat for calling out last wednesday night. Bastards. no one complains when I work 80 hours a week.

Tell me about it. I covered the shift of another supervisor over 150 times last year without one incident, including several times covering double shifts and even acting completely alone as the only management person in the building and I ended up with a "partial meets" on my review with no mention at all of any of that. Then one day last month I had to take my mom to the doctor so I was a little late. I caught hell for it. If they take one of their loved ones to the doctor I never say anything, I don't even question it. Yet one time in months where I needed to be there for my mom and I have to hear it. Fuck that shit.

so yeah, i left school and ran into my friend, who convinced me to stay till break and then leave with her (and half of the class). But it was sorta worth it...got to spend a couple of hours looking at "funny" pathology pictures
