ok first off...
I read about the end of the XM show today, are they still safe on XM or is that still under question?

I am completely heartbroken by 923's decision to take ron and fez off of the air. There are so many reasons why it made sense for them to keep the show on. I know talk radio is becoming a risky venture these days but ron and fez always cover their ass, they are a much safer bet than most radio shows because they play by the rules and question them at the same time. They were doing so well in their market after just 1 book and the shows seemed to be getting better every time I listened.

My evening routine would be that I would listen to ron and fez while using my elliptical. I would time it so I started right after they came back from commercials around 6:30 so I would get to hear about 3 full breaks before hopping in the shower. Working out is not something I have a real fondness for but it was my excuse to get away and listen to the show.

I heard the goodbye last night completely by chance. I almost never listen to the end of the show but I was near a radio around that time and just threw it on to catch it. I thought it was just a sincere thank you, I had no idea that anything was amiss until I checked a myspace board later on that night.

I love the XM show, I really do but as a NYer, the freeFM show meant so much more to me. I thought it was a lot tighter and since a lot of it was NY specific, I could relate to it much more.

Make no mistake, I love the Xm show. But, dammit, there was a groove and and a love on the FreeFm show. I don't know if it was the show, the listening thread, or a combination of the two. I can honestly say, the past 6 months on FreeFm were as good, or better than WNEW.

Well, I've still got 3 more weeks of R&F on the old XM 24/7.

Completely agree. There was something very different about the FreeFm show. I'm not sure if it was because it was at night or because it was a local audience that they had to appeal to. It felt like you and some friends were in on this fantastic little secret radio show that some of your other friends were hosting.
