NEW YORK, June 2 (UPI) -- Federal agents in New York have reportedly broken up an alleged plot to bomb the John F. Kennedy International Airport.

WNBC-TV, New York, said the alleged plot involved as many as four people, possibly including a former airport worker.

The target was reportedly a pipeline that carries jet fuel around the airport grounds, the TV news said. (http://www.upi.com/NewsTrack/Top_News/2007/06/02/report_feds_bust_jfk_airport_bomb_plot/1802/)

Well, I just called my boss to see if i should head in to work today. He said no and that "they" (meaning those with higher security clearance than me) knew about this for a while and were just waiting for these guys to make a move before they pounced.

Guarantee Bush gets a bump in approval rating for this (even if it's only from 28% to like 35%)...the fucking hayseeds jump back on his bandwagon everytime they hear the word terror.

Well kiddos, I know you all hate war and such, being the peaceful folks that we generally are, but terrorist groups are organizations that need to be rooted out and destroyed whenever possible. I doubt any INTELLIGENT (keyword- this need not apply to all the knee-jerk reactors that K.C. references) proponent of destroying terrorists wherever they hide are going to approve of Bush because of this. K.C.'s opinion, to me, is a knee-jerk reaction in and of itself.

Bush has fucked the war on terror in the ass so badly by fucking a previously anti-Terror state like Iraq up into a mostly terroristic radical islamist state that we will never be able to adequately take on groups like Al Qaeda or Islamic Jihad or the Taliban ever again. He's basically lost it for us, and it would take us years if not decades if not generations to be able to have the level of cooperation from the international community that we commanded post-911, pre-Iraq War, cooperation that Bush sneered at, laughed at, mocked, ignored, and insulted by going into Iraq against all their advice. And guess what? Taking on a terror group that is basically the equivalent of a criminal underground requires a high level of police and military cooperation from more than one country. That and the Iraq War has bled our treasury dry and we'll be facing the economic consequences of this fuck up in the years to come- which will further hinder our abilities to combat terrorism. So yeah. My approval of him ain't going up even a fraction. If anything this reminds me of why we were supposed to be fighting people in the first place, and the fact he deliberately fucked that objective up to suit his advisors' own ends pisses me off to no end. Impeach his ass.

For fuck's sake, impeach him. Democratic congress, where you at? Pussies. And they backed down on the chief issue that got them elected in the first place. Fuck them all. We need a new party.

I don't know that it is...there's a machine in place for this type of stuff.

Anytime something, either rumored or real in regards to terrorism comes out in the news, the spin machine goes into full force. It's like every Conservative talk show host, pundit, talking head, media relations person, etc...appears in lock step with the same talking points; (Bush is keeping us safe, Democrats couldn't do it)...it's happened too many times to not expect it.

And that seeps through the minds of the simple-minded, especially the hayseeds that agree with Bush on pretty much everything BUT the war.

I don't anticipate a big jump, or a sudden ground swell of support for the guy...I think most people have seen this for what it is (if they didn't from the beginning)...but he'll get a small bounce.

As for the rest, I agree pretty much whole-heartedly with it.

I just find the term kind of offensive. I mean, I'm not politically correct in the least, but to me hayseeds seems like the equvilant of nigger.

If it honestly hurt people and kept the white man down, then yes, there'd be problems. Thing is, nothing will ever be the equivalent of 'nigger' for southerners because they never underwent anything like what black people did. People will always get away with the term because hayseeds can take it alot more than black people can take anything said about them. Hell, they're the ones who get wah wah over "you people". Hayseeds on the other hand, don't sit down and rally and freak out...and if they did, no one would really listen to them too seriously, at least, not until Earth 2 has finally broken through the dimensional wall separating our reality from its own- and it could always happen I suppose- but I don't expect the roles to reverse any time soon. Or ever.

It's all interrelated...this thing will be perverted on both sides, IMMEDIATELY, for political gain...so it's probably a good idea to be aware of how it'll try to be used that way.

Plus it's not even a sweeping indictment of a race or group, type of term, like nigger is...hayseed is way too broad a term to be anywhere on that level of offensive...it transcends both race and region...

If that's going to be considered offensive, then we've PC'd up beyond recognition.

More of the same old bullshit. No real information in any story I have read. No immediate danger? that means they were not even operational... just some idiots talking about something to look like bad asses. Why not follow them until they became operational? Why not find out who was financing them. I guess you can't really investigate fake terror plots tho.

They have no direct link to Al Qaeda.. or they have no link? So sick of the Al Qaeda brand name - Its so 9-11-01.

See what I mean? C'mon King...you're on the Rosie bandwagon? All of this is an evil plot to keep the hayseeds voting republican? Or is it a real plot just being overplayed by Fox News and CNN because they HAVE to justify reporting a story 24 hours a day?

Only Super Terrorism Ultra Commando Rudy Gulliani can save us in the post 9/11 world...
Taking this fresh terror plot and claiming that it is the reason he must be president.
The man is just sad with his fear politics... he was a mediocre mayor (solid on crime) put in a tough situation and is taking credit for the resolve of the city... His leadership didn't make the city put itself back together, the resolve of new yorkers.. (parents helping their kids coming to grip with the tragedy - businesses reopening despite the economic risks - spouses dealing with the ultimate sacrifices that a loved one who is a fireman, Policeman, EMT and so on...
That Fucken prick Gulianni goes around and takes credit for what we did, and it is just pathetic

Got three of four. Good work by the feds and hopefully they'll catch the last f'er soon.

But there is another, more important issue.

The pipeline they wanted to blow up - anyone can get to it.

There was a picture in the NY Post yesterday of a reporter standing over it, with an OPEN valve cap.

It's an out in the open target. Much like the industrial parks across the river in Jersey. These places will be hit by a home-grown terrorist with great ease.

Speaking of Port Authority, it was also reported in the paper about "Islamburg", a 70 acre compound up in New York State. Neighbors of the camp have reported hearing gunfire, military-looking training and most disturbingly: men in Port Authority uniforms.

Now, who knows who reliable these eye witnesses are, and the compound is nothing more than some shacks and trailers, but I say the hell with any p.c. outrage. We need to get in there and take a look.

The property details can be iffy, but it's ultimately just a fancier version of maps. If Google Earth didn't exist, it still wouldn't be difficult at all for bad people to use such things for shenanigans.

Now, is it a bit over-hyped? Yes. But the way Olberman reported it tonight, he just gives courage to the conspiracy-theory kooks that believe the administration is behind this.
