I saw most of the first half of the game. Just as the blackout started, my dad made me go to bed. I found out John was dead at the bus stop, the next day.
I wanted to beat up the fucktard who laughed about it in shop class. I did end up fighting him, but not that day. Though I've been in many fights since then, I can't really recall a more recent time I've actually put my fist to a face.

I heard he was shot before I went to bed the night before. When I woke up for school I turned on the radio and heard he was dead. I just layed there for several minutes in disbelief. Then went to school to hear the rednecks laugh about it.

That's really strange.
Even though I was only three, about to turn four in the coming month, I don't have a single memory of that day.
I remember other bits and pieces from when I was very young.
My parents were never into the Beatles, but that was a big moment in history.
Ood.

Shitting in my diaper at three weeks old.
This has changed how??
I was in 5th grade. I remember the huge headline on the morning paper and my music teacher, who met and did studio time with John, being catatonic during class that day.

I was 15, so maybe 8th grade? I remember hearing about it, but it did not effect me deeply, I guess I didn't care about that kind of music at that point.

I doubt it. But I meet people periodically (hippies) who talk about how it was a blow to them. It didn't bother me, but I can understand it.

Maybe Stugots is saying that, those of us who remember it, will likely be dead in ten years.

Each generation has its musical martyrs I hear people talk about Biggie and Tupac like they were so big ( no pun intended). They don't mean a thing to me

I was 15 and listening to WNEW when they broke into the song (never heard them do that before) and said that a man "believed to be" John Lennon was shot. The second time they broke in. they confirmed it. I'll never forget that

not at all. to me, history not just distorts facts but also thins them. the man's music and words and actions over time will seem less important to the generations that have followed.
