I've never owned a game system specifically because i've always known I wouldn't be able to control my time on it. But i'm an alcoholic and compulive behavior is related.

I don't know if it should be called an addiction in itself, but I have no doubt it's a big problem for a lot of people.

I agree it can be a compulsion but to call it "as addictive as heroin" seems a little dramatic.

On a related note, I read a while back that the best fighter pilots used to rural farm boys who grew up hunting. They had the best eye-hand coordination and knew how to shoot ahead of the target, etc. The new fighter pilots are the kids who grew up playing video games.
