The least worst option is for Vince to open the show, announce Benoit's death, then add something along the lines of "for obvious reasons, the recent storyline involving the apparent death of the Mr McMahon character has been abandoned". You don't want to harp on about it, but I don't think there's any way to do the 'usual' tribute show without acknowledging the McMahon storyline in some way, otherwise it just leaves such a sour taste.

Holy shit, I just heard about this a little while ago. Fucking awful. I'm not a huge wrestling fan, but Benoit was always a great wrestler and seemed very aggresive and skilled.

For his entire family and him to die is a fucking horrific tragedy.

When I heard about it I thought of Weird Al's poor parents. They both died in their home of cabon monoxide poisioning. I haven't heard what state he and his family were found in but could that be a possibility?

I happened by all strange circumstances of coincidence to be watching Spike at 8 tonight, and saw the "In Memory of Chris Benoit" screen come up.

Shocking. When Vince came to the ring and gave his speech and started tearing up at the end, I was stunned. Ron and I just looked at the TV and at the same time said to each other "this is for real." We both started to choke up at the images of him hugging his son and had to look away.

We are not the biggest fans of wrestling but we appreciate the dedication and work these guys (and gals) put into maintaining their fitness so they can put on a show for their fans.

Rest in peace, Benoit family. Godspeed to the Great Beyond and feel only joy.

This sucks. I really enjoy watching him . He was a awsome wrestler and nice human being. When he did autograph signing over at Funtime Usa. Mr. Benoit treated the fans with kindness and respect. I also enjoyed Woman (Nancy) in her WCW and ECW days. I thank God for having people like Benoit and Nancy giving their lives to entertain us. May God Bless the Benoit family.

Damn. I haven't been paying attention to pro wrestling in the last year or so, so I don't think this has hit me as hard as it would have two years ago, but I really can't believe this.

Benoit was my favorite wrestler hands down. The guy was all professional, and was one of the last technicians in the business. Some of the best matches I have ever witnessed were with him wrestling. God, I feel for him and his family.

I went to Raw in Wilkes Barre 2 weeks ago and the standout match was Benoit/Lashley.
We all knew Lashley was gonna go over, but it didn't stop us from marking out for the Canadian Crippler.

He was one of those guys that it mattered(not in the grand scheme of things of course) when he lost because you just knew that even though it's a work it really mattered to him.
