Does anyone have a problem with it? Anyone think they could be a part of it? I wouldn't mind having a 2nd wife around that stayed home and took care of the house and what not. a third? no way but I could handle a second one.
Your thoughts?

definitely ok with it. also, i don't see why the government would care if you and the other folk are all willing participants. heck, even if they don't recognize the latter marriages it should be no worse to them than someone having an affair. less government meddling.

I don't have a problem if other people want to do it, but I'm not even sure if I want to marry one woman. There's no way I would marry more than one.

Sailor is the only one that gets it.
Mike the teacher brought up a great point to which i will say, you response will always be "i love you but you are all in this together. unless it is a problem, i am way to busy keeping a roof over all over our heads to hear it. bring me the good news and bend over."

To keep it fair, Polyandry would also have to be legal (multiple husbands).
Could you guys deal with that - your wife having more than one husband?
I'm not sure I could do either scenario. It will take more thought.

i know regina wouldnt want either. the have multiple spouses you would have to pick wives or husbands. i pick wives. if regina wanted another husband would i be cool with that? no. is that wrong? yes.

I feel that as long as kids aren't involved, and the people are consensual.. And not brainwashed like some of these compounds are.. Then i don't see a problem.. Adults can do what they want, as long as it its not hurting anyone..

I would LOVE to have a wife! Since I'm Wife #1 - she would get all the shit jobs...laundry, cleaning, taxicab for the teenagers.
I would have no problem sharing hubby's affection as long as I get to share MY affection too....
Alas, my hubby wouldn't go for it - he has his hands full with me...in more ways than one!

is that wrong? yes.
I disagree entirely.... spreading your genetic code while not wanting other males to spread theirs is hard-wired in our DNA.... jealousy is as important to natural selection as it comes.... so yeah, double standards are fucked up from a social standpoint, but I think they exist for a reason....

the only downside is once they start living together their periods will be regulated to the same time of the month......................

No thank you. Not only do you have to contend with another spouse, you have to deal with a whole other *family.*
I felt suffocated in my last marriage. A polygamist marriage would down right kill me.

As appealing as it might be, I think that if it were integrated into the mainstream world, polygamy would lead to a multitude of issues.
In a strict community, bound by beliefs and brought up with the concept, I can see where it might work... Without those ties there is no solid foundation and it would probably just be a free-for-all.
But I really really like "Big Love" :)

It kind of happens now though. With Porn become more mainstream I think more people are opening up to swinging etc. Plus A guy being married and having a girl on the side has been going on probably since the beginning of marriages and vice versa.

We would have to have 3 bathrooms if that was going to work. Or a large group shower room. Hmmmm...
I guess if we lived at the gym it could work.

I would love to have a different wife to plow each night of the week.
Plus I would be totally impregnating each and every one of them constantly. I would have like 500 kids.

Honestly, no. Every time you see a case, it's an excuse for the loser guy to be a wife-beater, pedophile, etc. Plus they always have the women working the home compound like slaves. The men never do any work in the home, much less take care of their 87 children. All under the guise of their screwed-up version of their religion.
It's hard enough to maintain a good marriage with one wife and a couple of kids.
