Every time I see Dave Holmes I think of this poor guy:

Oh please. Jesse Camp was the main reason I got fired from MTV because I had the gall to talk to talent because the dumbass was walking barefoot in a construction area.

Glad O&A killed him on the air. Glad he's a fucking footnote.

Instead of "poor" I should have said pathetic. Bad word choice on my part.

I was there, they might have sold all of the tickets but there were plenty of empty seats.

We bailed two songs into the Police set because the traffic situation getting out of there must have been awful, getting there was a mess. I guess I'll have to find video of this astounding Police-Kanye collaboration.

Pumpkins were the highlight for me, they sounded great.

Melissa Etheridge needs to be punched in the face. Instead of actually performing songs like everyone else, she turned in some 25 minute song/rant about What happened to American and how we were going to be able to tell our grandchildren that we almost saw the end of democracy. Just awful.

I will say that the majority of the artists stayed away from the preaching/lecturing stuff, they basically just did their thing and got off stage.

As soon as I saw Melissa Etheridge I changed the channel. Not that I ever doubted it but glad to see it was a good decision.

I have to wonder... does a green lifestyle include the chemotherapy that saved her life?

You know something, this thread made more sense to me regarding the coverage of Live Earth then the XM crew. I wound up working all day yesterday, so I just had it on the XM Inno. The channel jumping I had to do to just stay with the artist I was listening to at the moment was aggravating.
All in all, I give the concert and XM's coverage of it a "C"

Ok I'm going to make a bold statement. Gimme Shelter is the best song ever.

Not with Urban/Keyes covering it. Ugh! That was horrible

It was a spoof, no need to get uptight over it

If Live Earth is the best of what we have musically, I hope Al Gore is right and we all die in an upcomming ice age.

It's a split decision at work. Some liked it, others (myself included) couldn't stand it. But more on technical terms then musicianship. Other then my Keith Urban UUUGGGHHH! on his cover of gimme shelter, and Hetfield's poor vocals during Metallica's set, most of the artists did okay.

It was the direction of the XM programming that really made me mad. They screwed this up real bad for people like me unable to get to a 'puter to stream or TV to watch.

It worked for alot of people I am sure, but not me. Not my musical taste, I like to be less spoonfed.

It is interesting that the giant acts set this one out.
