New WJFK Line-up

WJFK finally dropped Bill O'Reilly and are adding Jim Rome; R&F's old night spot is going to the abortion that is the Junkie's groomed asswipes Big O and Dukes - honestly, the worst radio out there. Definately a turn towards sports talk on the station now, which may be the safest bet for commercial radio in a post-Imus world.

O&A's always been on tape delay in DC since they started the new deal with CBS. I don't think Roth was ever in DC; it was always the Junkies in the morning.

I just wish XM would get off their stupid asses and put the Hideout on 152. I use to listen to that channel all the time before 202 became free, now I rarely turn it there.

I do not think tape delay is as bad as people make it, unless O&A make a lot of refrences that day to stuff that is happening at a particular time. I listen to O&a and R&F at least a day behind because I record it, if not a few days and it never bothers me. most people do not care about calling in, and they do not do prize giveaways too much, which is where the main problem I thnk would come in. they have millions of listeners and the same 40 people call in all the time.

i think a bigger problem for them is being live in a place like chicago where they start at 5am. so they run from 5-8, which is really shitty in terms of numbers of people who actually get to listen.

Everything I've heard from them is pretty much dogshit, so I never went back.

I've never heard O and Dukes, I have heard Dukes on the Junkies. Chad Dukes once called into Elliot in the Morning and said he was Lance Armstrong. That fag Elliot, who is terrible, had a 10 minute interview with Chad Dukes posing as Lance Armstrong. That was pretty hilarious, more so because Elliot is such a douche.

I think the Junkies are a specific taste, if you like sports, cards and talking about chicks, then you will like the Junkies. Its just 4 friends talkin' shit. They are completely different then Ron and Fez. I'll tell you this much though, I'd listen to The Junkies over O&A and I like O&A.

Bill O'Reilly really sucks. It made no sense to have him on the station for so many years.

The Junkies are the best four man team in radio. Like with any talk radio, you have to spend some time with them to learn their personalities and get used to the lingo - eventually it feels like you're hanging with old friends. Too bad their show ends before I get up most days.

I don't care Big O and Dukes, but it'll be better than the god-awful dating show they've been airing for the past few months (which made NO sense because it was followed immediately by Loveline, another relationship show). I'm just glad that WJFK seems to be committed to the talk format.

Aside from the Junks, about the only radio show featuring sports is the Sporting News Radio show hosted late at night by David Stine (sp?)

My preference of course would be a return of Ron and Fez.

I liked the Hideout a lot.

The chap I'd like to see in Rome's spot is Jay Diamond.
He occasionally subs for Alan Colmes and is witty, informative, allows callers to talk and in general tries to get away from the name-calling and fear-mongering we see on right-wing radio.

I can't say that the Junkies suck, because their show is just boring. I've listened several times, and it just wasn't interesting enough for me to have any emotional opinion.

I have no idea who Jim Rome is. I might give him a listen, if he was on a station that had anything else worth listening to.

To be honest, I've never really listened to him. I just think it's a step-forward to have a sports talk show in that spot instead of a right-wing political talker. G. Gordon Liddy was in that spot before, and it didn't make much sense either given the tone of the rest of the station.
