A Cessna 310 took off from Daytona Beach International, declared an emergency and crashed into a housing complex just outside of Orlando. The pilot and passenger died as well as three people that were in the house it crashed into.

This is all over the news down here. It's scary because I fly Cessna's out of this airport. The pilot had smoke in the cockpit and was trying to land and clipped a tree. It doesn't sound like there was much else he could do.

Hereis the article (http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070710/ap_on_re_us/small_plane_crash)

This is the type of plane http://www.pilotfriend.com/aircraft%20performance/images3/3.jpg

here is where it was

That's a nice well built stable plane too. Pilot error or mechanical failure, anyone know?

One of the people in the plane was the husband of the president of NASCAR.

One of the kids on the ground - 10 years old - burned on 80 percent of his body.

I don't know which is a worse fate, surviving (emotional pain) or not suriving (horrific pain dying)

If that kid survived, I'd say you could pin the ol' horrific physical pain category on him too. Even if most of his nerve endings are gone...that's still gotta hurt.

The problem with burn victims who survive past the initial fire is that death from massive infections + the pain of the nerve endings that are still there firing can be incredibly painful and horrific.

I hadn't heard about her being president. I thought That was Mike Helton. I'm assuming that she's Bill France Jr's daughter, though. They called the guy the "Son in Law of Bill France Jr. That must be tough. She just lost her dad not too long ago.
