I gotta say Moose is right. Toomer fired everyone up when we were down 14-0. He brought some of the attitude that wasn't there in Shockey's absence

Toomer is the man, and is underrated.

I am glad the running game bailed out the Gmen, of yeah, and the defense!

Playoff bound, with a date against Tampa, most likely. If that is the case, I CAN GO TO THE GAME!!!

That was a big win.

Toomer more then made up for that huge drop last week. Steve Smith not so much.

On a side note I am down in the DC area at the in laws. I am stuck watching the Ravens, you don't realize how great the football package is until you don't have it.

Oh the pride to finally march into the playoffs. Today I heard an announcer say that it isn't our responsiblity to beat the patriots and save the record. I agree and am just glad we got in on a win and not a Vikings loss or blah, blah, blah. Congrats GMEN!

HEY ELI... STOP WASHING YOUR HANDS WITH BUTTER BEFORE EVERY GAME... Retard..

Papa was right on que when someone made an excuse about the weather.. He said Edwards doesn't seem to fumble... Its the Joba Bug excuse again.. The other guy didn't have problems with the situation..

I do love our RBs though.. We have 3 solid RBs in Jacobs Ward Bradshaw.. I only wish that fucking Jacobs can stay on the field.. That would be nice..

doesnt matter

seattle beat the bucs in week one so even if that happens and they have the same record seattle wins

so its already a given that the giants are coming down here to tampa

1. dallas
2. green bay
3. seattle
4. tampa bay
5. ny giants

6. either wash, minnesota, or new orleans

I know Garcia has beat them a couple times in the playoffs but this is the best match up for them. Honestly I would not be surprised if the Giants won 41 - 7 or lost 41 - 7.

exactly

we never play well when we go out to seattle so i was hopin against hope that we wouldnt choke it away and be the 6th seed

yeh garcia was the man behind center when we had the niners dead to rights in 2002 up 38-14, as well as last year with the eagles

but he had better playmakers on both those teams then he does now in tampa so that could help us , plus the bucs havent played anyone great this year, but neither have the g men and the giants got killed by dallas and green bay and most likely the patsies

i feel the opposite

we struggle in seattle and garcia dosnt have much talent around him other than deep threat galloway, graham has run well but im not scared of him

as for running qb's we've always done well against mcnabb and vick who were much younger and faster than garcia is now

basically if we stack the box and double team galloway we should win

As long as the offense runs the ball, we can beat the Bucs. They have a tough defense, and I would like to see a 70/30 run to pass ratio in this game. Get first downs by running, so we don't have to rely on Eli and his shaken psyche.

I know I am looking past the Pats, cause the game is meaningless, in reality. I don't see the Gmen beating the Pats, but, I would expect them to give them a good game.

I have to go out on Saturday to watch it, since my cable system does not carry NFL Network. DAMN YOU BRIGHT HOUSE!

fuck that we should start everyone bullshit. Dallas is playin Washington, and washington needs to win to make it. So dallas should start romo and owens and make them play all game. Same with Indy, they OWE it to cleveland.

Shut the fuck up. It's up to the Giants to do whats in the best interest of the giants, not the fuckin league. 15 other times someone coulda beat the Pats, so dont act like its all on the Giants. Sit Burress, sit Pierce, anyone else who might be hurt.

Also, PASS PASS PASS, the only runs i wanna see against NE are QB bootlegs by Eli. Anything to get Eli knocked out for the playoffs

i was actually thinking if coughlin would gamble and play eli sparingly and put in J-LO and have him have a chance of showing up eli

and id rather have a full strength as possible giants team vs a bucs team then over use these somewhat injured guys to try to keep history from happening

I don't see them making a change. Coughlin's had them in the playoffs the last 3 years. He's not the problem, it's "slow to mature" Manning that's killing them. Not even comparing him to his brother -- this guy just makes bad decisions on when and WHERE to throw the ball.

Oh, FYI for anyone who thought they'd be shutout of the game 'cuz it's on NFLN, they just announced it will be carried by CBS AND NBC. That means in the NY area you'll see it on 2,4, 9, and 11.

I think they do need the game if only to keep a winning streak alive into the playoffs. I think they're pretty much a one and done team regardless of who they play but I'd like their chances better if they go in on a win (and then go someplace warm to play). Let's face it -- who's left to get injured anyway? If Eli is handled as he was in the Bills game his ability to hurt the team is minimized.

Screwing up the 'perfect season' would just be gravy.

Totally remember that Denver game, and it may have been the most exciting Giants game I have ever been to.

On paper the G-men are going to get the doors blown off by the Pats. So playing the starters vs going for the win is most likey a non issue. If the Pats have a 21 - 0 first quater lead, get the second string on the field and let those douchebag New England fans who are shelling out a G a seat enjoy a JV game.

However if the circumstance arrises and they have the Pats tied or up or down 7 at halftime or the end of the third I think you have to go for the win.

Giants schedule for next year:

Redskins (x2), Cowboys (x2), Eagles (x2), 49ers, Seahawks, Cardinals, Rams, Bengals, Ravens, Browns, Steelers, Vikings and Saints

What do you think, judging by the looks the NFC East has it pretty easy with the NFC West and the AFC North next year

i would hardly say the afc north is pretty easy

but that nfc west is nice cept for seattle but it depends on where we play them, we lose to them in seattle but we win at giants stadium against them

I'm amazed at how physical the Giants are being tonight. Especially for a meaningless game. It's pretty clear Coughlin's plan is to punch the Pats in the mouth. Eli looks great so far too, and its not like they're running a lot.

Still think the Pats will win it, though. Giants have yet to stop them from moving the ball, and Belichek's known for his halftime adjustments. Coughlin isn't.

I know this is a stretch and insane, but I read this at ESPN:

"This game is an embarassment to the NFL at this point. Looks as cooked at the Blacksocks with Moss running all alone two plays in a row, phantom penality and now the Giants running the clock like they are ahead. I believe they think we are all stupid. I guess i am glad i am not a fan of either team. "

Funny, that the same play was run two times in a row for the big record breaker with 3 networks watching...

Seriously I don't buy any of this, just really really really really pissed the fuckers got off the hook for the 4th time. They will lose in the playoffs.

It was a meaningless game for the Giants. They weren't going to break their asses at the end. I thought they played a hell of a game.

Could somebody get me that TD ball? Brady record for TD passes, Moss record for TD catches, in the game where they set the record for most points in an NFL season. Oh, and BTW it was during the 16-0 perfect season finale.

That ball has to be worth a few sheckles.

Funny, that the same play was run two times in a row for the big record breaker with 3 networks watching...

One was play action, where the safety, trying to move to cover Moss, tripped over his own feet. The 2nd play WASN'T play action, and the CB tried bumping Moss and missed, so he ran right by him.

The players weren't even lined up the same. The only similarity was that Moss was sprinting down the sidelines.

Giant fans, and I think everyone who is not a Patriots fan would have loved to see them win today, and blowing a 12 point lead sucks. However we are quite used to it.

Lets worry about Tampa, to even think about Dallas right now is getting way ahead of ourselves.

Loved to see them win, sure. But it was one of the closet games the Patriots have played all season. No one has beaten them, and the Giants played as well as any other team has against them. This has to help going into the playoffs.

I raised this somewhere else, but I kind of feel bad for Coughlin if the Giants lose next week. If he had rested his starters this week, he would have been destroyed by the NY media for giving up, and if he loses next week, he's going to get destroyed for playing his starters in a "meaningless" game. For once, I'm actually rooting for Coughlin next week, just so we don't have to live through all this 2nd guessing.

No. Snoogans was bashing Chad Pennington earlier this season and giving Eli fellatio about how much better he was. My point was, in a big spot like last night's game, I'd rather have a confident quarterback with a brain for football and a shitty arm than someone who's got a great arm but shitty footwork and zero brain. (Eli)

first of all, I think Ken Dorsey is better then Pennington. It doesnt matter what your QB's head can do when he cant throw 30 feet. You are still fuckin INSANE if you think Chad is as good as eli even with Eli sucking. And still, what big spot was last nights game. It didnt matter in the overall. By the way, I'll be looking foward to see how Chad does in the play.....oh yea, every game Chad played, his "smart" head led him to throw a pick to seal up the loss, BASICALLY EVERY GAME.

Eli has more potential than Chad who seems to have reached his peak. As much as I like Chad as QB of the Jets, after awhile all those dink and dunks (which the former offensive coordinater of the Jets took alot of heat for under Edwards) the defenses adjust accordingly and don't have to play a deep zone with Chad in because he doesn't have the arm to throw it down field. As for Eli who gets alot of flack when the Giants lose (rightfully so or not), all I know is back in the day if the Giants offense scored over 21 points they woulda won. Let's just say the Giants defense is not a good as it hypes itself up to be (particularly the secondary). If you look back at Giant history, Simms went through the same thing almost as Eli until the Giants won the Superbowl.

Its a pretty flawed statement because your insinuating that the Giants passed on Elway and Marino.. And neither of them are NEAR Elway and Marino.. You should have picked a different class of QBs..

im not saying the giants passed on elway or marino

i wasnt comparing them saying the giants could have had eli, big ben, or rivers

im just saying that if you compared he 2 drafts and not who could have had who

which guys from the eli class would represent the marino class

Amen, Brother!

The Giants would have to have played a perfect game to beat the Pats. They were close but just not quite there. 2 big plays - Moss' TD and Eli's interception - were the difference. Give credit to the Pats, they earned it but also give props to the Giants -- absolutely the best game they played all year.

As we speak, Giants defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo is busy devising a game plan to deal with the Cowboys' offense for Sunday's divisional matchup in Dallas.

But later in the week, he is expected to have his mind on something else. Namely, the possibility of becoming head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

Barring any last minute changes, Spagnuolo will interview with the Falcons in the New York/New Jersey area on Friday, according to a league source with knowledge of the situation. According to league rules, assistant coaches whose teams are in the wild card playoffs can interview between the time the wild card game ends and the divisional playoffs.

The Giants would not comment on whether Spagnuolo will interview with Atlanta, referring the matter to the Falcons. Atlanta officials had no comment.

Meanwhile, Giants personnel man Chris Mara, son of the late co-owner Wellington Mara, is interviewing today for the Falcons' general manager vacancy. Team owner Arthur Blank is looking for a new GM after relieving team president Rich McKay of those duties after the season. Blank had tried to hire Bill Parcells as director of football operations, but Parcells opted to join the Dolphins in a similar capacity.

The Falcons interviewed Eagles general manager Tom Heckert yesterday, although it's uncertain if they will make any final decisions on a GM this week.

Both Heckert and Mara are familiar with Spagnuolo's credentials. Spagnuolo was the Eagles' linebackers coach before getting the Giants' defensive coordinator job before this season. Spagnuolo has likely received the endorsement of former Giants general manager Ernie Accorsi, who has served in an advisory capacity for the Falcons.

What a fucking game!!! That may rival the 15 - 13 game against the 9ers in 91. This has been a complete team effort and proves its not just talent that wins games ( that's right I am looking at you Tiki). When you have malcontents ripping the team apart its very difficult to focus on the ultimate goal.

We are watching something really special here. I love that no one give them a shot. No one gave them a shot against Dallas and no one (minus Terry Bradshaw ha-ha) gave them a chance against Green bay. Hey no one should pick them, they are playing the best team in the history of the league in the super bowl.

Not to be a baby but I hope that horrific officiating job is reviewed by the league. The pass interference call on Driver. Plaxs catch before halftime that wasn't reviewed, the holding call on Bradshaws touchdown???? Its okay if you fuck up on both sides but all the brutal calls in the game that went against the Giants.

That game was incredibly fun to watch. Though I am glad that there is a week off before the super bowl, because I don't think I could handle that stress for a third week in a row. I must admit that after my jumping around and screaming subsided, one of my first thoughts was "I wish I could see Tiki's reaction." It's one thing to walk away from a team in your pride, it's another to take shots on your way out. So much for Eli not being capable of leading this team anywhere.

I'm a Giants fan and I'm happy they won, but it really irks me when I constantly read how they had all the calls against them and that the officials are paid off to try and make sure certain teams make it.

Funny how no one remembers the 4 penalties on GB in one drive alone. Two of which kept the drive alive for the Giants and if not for that we wouldn't have scored a TD and thus would have lost the game. Yeah, let's just completely overlook that and claim that the refs are out to get us.

I am typically not a guy who complains about officiating, but I felt like last nights game was a disgrace.

Of those four penalties you mentioned three were blatant. The only call I thought was questionable was the personal foul call for roughing the passer (which was a huge penalty cause it was third down).

I am not saying the game was fixed or the league wants Green Bay in and not the Giants. It was a very poorly officiated game and usually refs give a team a make up call when they screw them. Instead of giving the Giants a make up call or two for the calls they had blown, they continued to flag them.

You may not, but it's pathetic how many conspiracy theorists are out there that honestly do believe the Pats and Packers are deliberately being helped.

One guy in another group tried complaining about the Madison personal foul. The guy threw a Packer to the ground and as far as I saw was never shown on replay, but this person insisted that that call was bullshit. I hate fans like that.

I know the type, people who think everything is fixed. Those are guys who you can't even have a discussion with, they are like 9-1-1 conspiracy theorists, like I am asshole cause I have an iota of common sense. Can't stand them either.

Its just when a guy jumps offside's and almost kills manning cause he was practically in the backfield and no flag is thrown it is an issue that needs to be addressed.

can someone tell me why this guy is so wrong. First of all, no one HAS to pay anyone anything. The city offers to throw the parade, and they do i talot. They even offered to Have a parade for Rutgers if they woulda finished undefeated 2 years ago.

You are welcome, by the way. Had it not been for the Giants being willing to go partners and privately fund the stadium with the Jets, the dumbass Jets would still be tryin to clog up the entire west side and take almost a billion from the city to build the stadium there.

The team offices are in midtown, and if they arent now, its only been the last year or 2. The team has also played more games in NY then it has in NJ as a franchise. They have only been playing in jersey since the late 70's and they have been a team since 1925. They arent a NJ Team. They are a team for the NY market, that includes NJ and some of Ct. And the Giants played in Ct too at one point. How does that taste.
