A work friend of mine killed his wife and then killed himself. This guy left the job a few months ago. He wasn't my buddy. We didn't hang out after work but we were good work friends and I knew him well. He was a super nice guy and pretty quiet. Seems he broke up with his wife and wanted to get back with her but she didn't want that. There was also a child involved. Which according to the paper he called and said not to come home. Things like this usually don't bother me but this has we feeling weird. A lot of people at work are doing the what a great guy he was and how he will be missed. I'm thinking this guy fucking murderer.He killed his child's mother. Ruined a kids life. Two family's are destroyed. Is he such a great guy? I don't think so. Am I wrong?

no, u arent wrong......im sorry but the guy is a murderer. you can argue mental health as a way to garner sympathy for him, but the straight facts seem to lead to the fact that this guy is a cold blooded killer

you may be able to get away with 'nice guy' up till the point where he killed her. my thinking in these situations is he had something wrong mentally and the 'stress' he placed on himself with this breakup exposed whatever was wrong with him.

it's a dark place to be contemplating killing someone and yourself, making the decision to do it, and then actually doing it. this happens all too often and it's a shame they can't study the brain, learn what causes it, and come up with a vaccine to prevent it.

OK seriously, the reason this bugs you so much is it hit close to home. People think they live in a "safe neighborhood" (whatever that means) until something happens on their block. But if it happens somewhere else, they dont care. Its just another dopey news story.

As far as your friend goes, while we would all like to think "I could never do that" but you dont know the details of their relationship, the personalities involved and what pushed him to do something so utterly irrational. I try not pass judgment on other people's relationships since I dont have all the details and they can get so fucking convoluted. Who the fuck knows. Lord knows some relationships will drive you nuts. Thats why the law generally looks less harshly on these "crimes of passion" then it does on cold blooded murderers.

But whatever the reason, what he did is obviously horribly wrong and not the way to handle something like this.
