series got darker as Harry gets older, and the ending was planned from the beginning.

I usually read hardcore fantasy (I am reading Memories of Ice by Stephen Erikson) but I have enjoyed the Potter series, the last book was very well written. The best (young adult, at least how it is marketed) is the His Dark Materials series by Phillip Pullman. They are going to change the movies significantly, unfortunately. I dont think a lot of people in this country will be comfortable with movie based on a book that main plot point is to kill God.

If it's the former, then I guess we disagree.

I read the spoilers online, and today, my co-worker said how it ended and that matched what I read. I read the first4, started reading the 5th, and didn't get past the first 10 pages, which, from what I have been told, is the best book out of all of them.

Okay, then you can't say whether the ending is weak or not. You have to read the ending in the context of how it's set up and executed to truly determine whether it works or not.

If someone didn't see Sixth Sense or Psycho, and were told what the endings were, they would have nowhere near the impact on the reader than if they saw the ending as part of the whole movie.

I most certainly can say if I think it is weak, what part of "In my opinion" is hard to understand??!!?? From what I read, and what I was told, I BASED AN OPINION on what I think of it. Read totally or in parts, IT IS AN OPINION.

I can't do audio books because I need to hear the story in my own head.

I read the spoilers online, and today, my co-worker said how it ended and that matched what I read. I read the first4, started reading the 5th, and didn't get past the first 10 pages, which, from what I have been told, is the best book out of all of them.

Honestly I think, and several people know have agreed with me, that the fifth book was the worst in the series. It was CRITICALLY in need of editting. You should read the 6th and 7th book, they are significantly better. You might like them. Just my two cents.

I understand it's your opinion. My point is that your opinion doesn't carry any weight because you never read the book.

Exactly! Most people don't fit into a stereotype, which is why it is kind of ridiculous for someone to say they have never seen a gay person.

Hell, with at least 10% of the population being gay it is almost statistically impossible to NOT have ever seen a gay person (and that percentage is based on my "college" info from 12 years ago, so it could be even higher now).
