What a nightmare...

The Environment Agency said the River Severn at Gloucester peaked just inches below the level that would have threatened the city center and a power station serving 500,000 homes. The Thames peaked overnight in Oxford, but downstream in Reading the highest water wasn't expected until Thursday, the agency said.

Torrential rains have hit Britain over the past month — nearly 5 inches (12 centimeters) fell in some areas on Friday alone — and more downpours are forecast over coming days.

Gloucestershire County Council's chief executive, Peter Bungard, said flood levels at Tewksbury would have to fall nearly 36 inches (90 cm) from the peak before drinking water supplies could be restored.

"The very, very best forecast is seven days," Bungard told British Broadcasting Corp. radio. "I'm really, really worried — 350,000 people is hard to imagine, and amongst those are very vulnerable people."

It's terrible. But, I can't help but find the photo to be pretty at the same time. Not that it's at all pretty what the people are going through.

Wait. Didn't I hear a commercial on xm202 that talked about how England was separated from the rest of Europe by a flood? Maybe we'll get England 2.0 out of this!

Wow, nice pull PB. Yet I believe they're already on version 27.8 if you ask me. Oh yah, they all suck like vista or rf 2.0 too! Clown hat, squiqqly hair, winky face.

Maybe they can hold back the water with larger avatars in the new version.

I'm sure Elton John would go on BBC and tell the Brits, "Let them touch those things....let them take a kayak!"
