Im just tuning into it now. there is about 25 minutes remaining in the debate. Right now they are talking about pension plans and how Social Security should not be privatized. I know that most union workers vote for the Dems by a huge margin. Were there any other hot topics discussed?
Probably not. They can afford to seeing as there's 1,863,198 more debates scheduled through the end of this year.

unimpressive, though i haven't watched it all (can't bring myself to sit through the pandering and punchlines). It pains me very much that I can't stand to hear the possible next POTUS speak in such a forum, or in many other forums for that matter.
Stop smilling assholes (always bothered me about Wes Clark), shit is not that good right now.
If John Edwards could stop being a pretty boy for two seconds I might be able to listen to him a littel more, even with his ball-less response to Ann Coulter. For example, a gentleman who had worked for 30-something years for a certain industry, had been forced to retire due to injury sffered, I beleive on the job, lost his pension and benefits due to the compeny he worked for declaring bankruptcy. He struggled to get throught the question, a very general one about health care, coming close to tears, and here is John Edwards up on stage smiling as big as ever apllauding this man (who got a standing ovation from the audience). Does put any of you off as much as it put me off, what's to smile about? the man feels less than adequate because he can't afford health care for his wife of several decades! Why smile at that?

Edwards is a phony. He's about as big a phony on the liberal side as Thompson is on the conservative side. Just saying the lines and pandering to the groups he thinks will send the voters his way. Guaranteed failure as POTUS if he scams everyone as well as he scams the media.

Disagree. Edwards has some hardline stances that he has not waivered on. The main criticism I've seen of Edwards is that he is wealthy and his wife was sick. The right doesn't even try anymore.
I would have made a drinking game out of it by taking a swig every time the phrase "working families" was used.

That would have been fun!
