And if that last part isn't a Crime Against Humanity I don't know what is. If Congress, Democrat and Republican alike, gives him this money then those kids' blood will be on their hands as well.

A historian would give this better justice than I would, but the parties essentially flipped in the early 1900's. I'm saying 1920-ish. (Someone will be able to correct me on that.)

Actually in the early 1800's the Democrats were called the "Democratic-Republican Party". They shortened in the the 1840's. The Republican Party was born 1850-ish.

The whole thing is actually very interesting. Parties move and shift over time. The best thing we can do is hold true to our values and not a political party.

10 years is an exaggeration, I hope. It's impossible to know how long this civil war will last but I think we're obligated to stick around until it's over because we shook this hornets nest.

I'd love to believe the next administration will find a way to get our troops out of Iraq while stabilizing the country but I don't see how the next President can just up and leave due to the further backlash that it could possibly cause around the globe. Everybody already hates Bush and the US by proxy for fucking up that country. If we just leave without accomplishing anything and another dictator takes control of that country the US would look even stupider in the eyes of the world. We've made our bed and we have got to lay in it. Leaving the country in the shambles that it currently is in is almost worse than starting the war to begin with. I think our hands are tied.
