Oh yeah, forgot this little ditty:

Northfield Names New Police Chief 11/22/2006 (http://www.buenavistatownship.org/Media_Links_2006/Local%20News%20Clips/nov_2006.htm#Northfield%20names%20new%20police%20c hief%2011/22/06)

Why you might ask?

NORTHFIELD — The city got a new full-scale police chief Tuesday, more than four years after it lost its last one.

Chief Robert James got that title following a unanimous vote from City Council and several years of being an acting captain in the department.

James replaces Robert Carty, who was promoted from lieutenant to acting chief in October 2002, when Kenneth W. Adams, the former chief, was indicted on charges of stealing federal and city funds and with other irregularities. Adams was later convicted and sent to prison.

Yeah, it's the other revenuing. Kind of goes to my point why cops don't seem to care about the politicians "making" them write nuisance tickets. They're in on it too.

You keep pulling examples of bad cops doing bad acts. There are over 600,000 cops in this country and you have a problem because some asshole gave your wife a ticket. Get over it, I didn't like the fucker that stole my lunch in the third grade, that doesn't mean I have gone around hating third graders my whole life.

Never said I hate all cops. I just don't trust them. And how many more examples do you need to see that cops are a "necessary evil?"

600,000 cops, and you're right, most of them are not bad. But every point I make showing corruption, lawlessness and coverups, you just dismiss them with "what's your beef with the one that gave your wife a ticket?" Which tells me that you don't care about the real problems I cited, you just blow it off because they were one of yours.
And that's why most people don't trust cops. They are WAY over-protective of the scum in their midst.

You didn't get me until you pointed out that a Chief of Police embezzled money from local and federal funds. I can see getting angry with a cop who pulls someone for being a minority or one using inside information to aid criminals. Citing an example of embezzlement is something that can happen any almost any profession.

Also, I am not a cop. There isn't a cop in my family and I don't know any cops.

ok scott, you win. i'm evil, and i will kill myself the next time i write someone a ticket because I'm in on it, man.

Scum. Nice.

Whatever you do for a living, I hate them too. And no, I wont lie to you, I hate them all...I dont support them, I dont say most are good but all are evil... I say if even one of them talked to my (imaginary) wife, then theyre all assholes. And they dont have any right to use the tools of their trade, I dont care if they are properly trained in doing so, or know more about their jobs than i do..i dont care. They once came very close to affecting my pocketbook. very close indeed. I hate the people in your profession so deeply, that i will never change my opinion on anything that they do, or any arguments that would change a rational man's opinion. I wish your job didnt even exist, even though if i ever need one, i'll probably call them, and i'll tell them to their face everything i feel about them. well, no i wont. I'm a coward, but i sure as hell wont thank them for doing what they just did for me. no sir. for i am a stubborn ass.

and how will i kill myself, you may ask? by taser of course. i hear theyre DEADLYYYYYYY.

(note to those who care: i dont write tickets anymore, so this scenario will never play out. dont call 911 on my ass)

WOW! I don't even know where to start with that one. Just pretty please don't
read my post in high fly's thread (http://ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=63559) or else you'll get really really mad! (That's reverse psychology folks:innocent:)
As far as you talk about hating my job, my coworkers and such-blow me. I didn't get personal with you. You asked for an instance where I was personally affected by a cop, and I gave it to you. Then I gave you example after example of police corruption to back up my belief (and the belief of a lot of fellow civilians) that we don't trust cops. It isn't a liberal thing, like you stated thinking I was some sort of dope smoking Hippie liberal. Again, I am a registered Republican who sits somewhere in the Pat Buchanan camp of conservatism. I also agreed that the kid was out of line and the taser was warranted. The kid was a douche.
But when I take the side of those on this board who voice distrust on law enforcement, you go all ga-ga and not only ignored what I have to say in order to get in your cheap shots, you pull that Blue Wall all around you for comfort and refuse to debate the issues I put out there.
You said you could write about good things that your cop freinds have done. Go AHEAD! The "Miranda" line was a joke, I even said it was when I posted it. The floor is yours buddy, let's hear about the cool stuff cops do.

BTW all the "assholes" you are talking about? They are pharmacists. I work for a pharmacy. I deliver medicine to people who need it, including chemotherapy to kids who have leukemia. But we're all assholes-thanks Chris. Well, maybe a couple of guys in the office can be dickheads sometimes but........
(That's a joke. I have to make that clear I guess)
Now go to bed, get a good nights sleep so you can catch me in the morning doing 70 in a 65 zone while I deliver Methylprednisone to a patient that has Multiple Sclerosis. I hope he can afford the co-pay his insurance company makes him pay after he pays the fine for parking his car with his steer tires facing the street instead of the curb.
(That was another joke, laced with sarcasm. I'd understand if you got mad at that one. That one was for Yerdaddy and Mojo)

CYA!

See how it sucks to have your profession fucked with?

My point is made.

Altho I kinda laughed when you threw in the poor cancer kid story... because as a cop, Ive never had a hand in saving a life. No cop has.

Another laugh when you complained about me not reading your posts, but then went on to say Id catch you speeding and write you a ticket. Who's not reading whose posts?

And pharmaceutical companies dont exactly have a spotless record..are you sure you wanna attach yourself to them? Theyve probably let more people die this year than cops have written tickets.

And I cant wait til Yerdaddy and Mojo hear that theyre on YOUR side.

Your distrust in ALL cops is unwarranted by the acts of a few. And how you measured the belief of "a lot" of fellow civilians, is truely a feat, although probably limited to the people you have complained about cops to, and they didn't have a heart to tell you that we all have problems but your problem does not speak for us all.

If anyone starts going after "dope" smoking there is going to be a flaming paper bag of dog shit on your doorstep. Chris, I don't care if you are Chris the DEA Agent, it still applies to you.

Nah, you just shot 'em

JOKE! IT'S A JOKE! I COULDN'T RESIST!!! I'M SORRY!

As for Mojo and Yerdaddy taking sides-again you misunderstand me. I just wanted to give them a laugh with a cheap joke at your expense. I could care less how they feel about the two of us, althought Yerdaddy made an interesting suggestion on how to get us to be nicey nicey to each other.

That first one was a play on psychic and not really meant as an insult, but the second one was for the guy who told me Im talkin out my ass...soooo...He started it!!!:smile::smile:

You said I was blindly taking the side of cops, which was false, so I told you why. That's all. To me, "talking out of one's ass" means to be talking falsely about something, which you were. If that phrase offended you, sorry.

And that's why most people don't trust cops.

If you mean that the majority of people don't trust cops, you're wrong. In 2006, the Bureau of Justice Statistics published results of a study conducted in 2005 that asked people how much confidence they had in a list of institutions in American society. The results for "the police" were as follows:
63% had a "Great deal/quite a lot"
29% had "Some"
7% had "Very little"
1% had "None"

Thats not all and it's not false. I let your condescending post get me more riled up than I should have and I also apologize for name-calling. You responded to my post where I explained exactly how you were taking the cops word at face value and you tell me Im speaking out of my ass. Yes, that pissed me off a bit. There is nothing wrong with your position or argument, but at least call it what it is and don't try and dismiss me when I point it out.

Chigworthy

Look, I explained why I'm not "blindly" taking the cops side. I took the side of the cops in this case and I explained logically why. When you back up your decision with facts and training, it is not doing something "blindly". You may not like my opinion, but that doesn't mean I just watched the video and formed my opinion without any other knowlege.

Depends on what they're dispensing, and the copay.
