They're a Boston Irish punk/folk band like Dropkick Murphy's or Flogging Molly. Good shit.

I know it's been mentioned before, and there is a newer album out, but I finally got around to downloading this from Amazon. This will be on constant rotation for at least a month. I will echo what's been said before by slumbag and moe in other threads, but for a drama/music geek to create some of the best metal music in years (with a little help from one of the best drummers out there) that lampoons the ridiculousness of the genre at the same time as paying tribute to it is amazing. The lyrics to Thunderhorse and The Lost Vikings are fucking hilarious:
Thunderhorse:
Ride...
Ride...
Ride...
Ride...
Thunder...
Thunder...
Thunder...
Thunder...
Thunderhorse!
Thunderhorse!
Thunderhorse!
Thunderhorse!
Revenge!
Revenge!
Revenge!
Thunder...
Horse
Thunder...
Horse
Thunder...
Horse
Thunder...
Horse
Thunder, Thunder...
Thunder, Thunder, Thunder...
Thunder...
Thunder...
Horse
Thunderhorse!
Thunderhorse!
"The Lost Vikings"
Riding, and riding, we search across the land
The snow, and wind, has frozen hearts of man
But we ride
We ride
Many days ago we left our homes
With swords to ride into the night
Fighting side by side to destroy our foes
And leave them without life
We stop, consider the land that we travelled
Our map's at home, direction unravelled
But we ride
We ride
Many days ago we left our homes
With swords to ride into the night
Fighting side by side to destroy our foes
And leave them without life
So much time has passed since we left our land
That we've become concerned
And we'll never find the battle
That we should have fought and won
But we won't stop searching
Lost but still we ride
Search until we die
We ride
We ride
Hungry and tired the frigid plain yeilds little
We trudge on further, eating pride and snow that's brittle
We ride
We ride
We come upon a witch who takes us in
To let us share her mighty fire
She asks of us our story and we lie and say
We ride around for hire
She asks us if we'd like to have her map
And points us in some direction
But we are far too proud and strong so we keep silent
And ignore her suggestion
Lost but still we ride
Search until we die
All the fault of pride
The gods weep in the night
Lost but still we ride
Search until we die
All the fault of pride
The gods weep in the night
We ride
We ride
All the other lyrics are hilarious too.

Got 3 lps, he did 2 solo 1 is a BO.
Guitarist with The James Gang (from 1973 through 1974), Deep Purple (from 1975 to 1976), and his solo work.
He checked out kinda like Hendrix on his second solo album.
I'm likeing his guitar stylings, very good imo.

Whose he playing with?
Tommy Bolin
Got 3 lps, he did 2 solo 1 is a BO.
Guitarist with The James Gang (from 1973 through 1974), Deep Purple (from 1975 to 1976), and his solo work.
He checked out kinda like Hendrix on his second solo album.
I'm likeing his guitar stylings, very good imo.
Check out his stuff.

Do you have "The Ultimate" box set? He plays on Billy's Cobham's "Spectrum" album. Good stuff.

I know it's been mentioned before, and there is a newer album out, but I finally got around to downloading this from Amazon.
Grab Dethalbum II.
It trumps the first IMO. Hilarious and Brutal.

I've been listening to Dylan's Street Legal and Slow Train. I have always hated Mark Knopfler so it was kept me from giving Slow Train a fair shake. I am starting to like his playing on this album, though.

Didn't know that about Bolin. Cobham rules.

Still rocking Black Joe Lewis and the Honeybears. Been on a Thelonius Monk kick lately too...

I have a couple of those Zephyr albums. His playing is great but lead vocalist Candy Givens sounds like a Janis Joplin-wannabe. That can get grating.

The B/O album has Zephyr on it. I didn't know at the time. The song "sail on " being one.
She does sound like Joplin.
