Study Says Swearing At Work Boosts Morale

According to Yahoo, (http://news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20071017/od_afp/britainemploymentlanguageoffbeat_071017155439) a study done by a professor and graduate student at the University of East Anglia indicates that swearing at work may boost workers' morale.

As long as you're not telling your boss to fuck off, or calling a female colleague a "cunt," I think this may very well be true.

I've always held this theory too, told many a people. Just try and take the languge out of a body shop and see if the morale goes up or dowm.

People need to work at swearing.

I read that article this morning. It makes perfect sense. I swore like a sailor at my last job and got along great with everyone I work with. These days, I'm in a stuffy office with people 15-30 years older than me, so I keep it clean.

Fuckin A man! I work at a lumberyard where that shit en-motherfuckin-couraged! I ran our contractor sales division for a few years and one day this guy goes into my boss' office. He goes into a story about one of our buyers saying the word "pussy" in a sentence. He didn't call the guy a pussy; he simply said it in conversation. My boss looks across the desk at this guy and says "well...what the fuck do you expect me to do about it? I'm the worst around here about cursing." Fuckin great. The ol HR department probably wouln't think too highly of his managerial coaching but we were small time then; I honestly don't know if we even had one.
