I don't think I suffer from OCD but a few people around me believe I do.
Anyone here have OCD? If so, what makes you think you have it?
Here are some examples of what I do that lead certain people to believe I suffer from it.
I happen to think Im just petrified of GERMS. That doesnt make you OCD does it?
- Will never pump gas without a glove.
- will never touch a shopping cart. Ive never seen anyone clean a cart.
- 2 or 3 showers a day. (If I happen to smoke a lil weed, I will shower up to 5 - 6 times a day. It seems to be the only place I can really get away from myself. Almost borders on meditating. )
- never can watch tv or "the game" without the entire house being cleaned spotless.
(I cant relax knowing there are dishes or laundry that needs tending to.)
- all dishes have to be done after cooking and before eating.
- Stop going to movie theaters. gross.
- Find myself saying "dont watch me eat" - prefer to eat alone & secluded in the dark.
-
Again, is this OCD? or just being aware & clean?

Will never pump gas without a glove. nope- germaphobe
will never touch a shopping cart. Ive never seen anyone clean a cart. again nope-germaphobe

never can watch tv or "the game" without the entire house being cleaned spotless.
(I cant relax knowing there are dishes or laundry that needs tending to.)yes- the game or tv airs and then its gone- the laundry will still be waiting.
all dishes have to be done after cooking and before eating.yes- food does get cold- let your dishes soak (easier to clean)
Stop going to movie theaters. gross. nope- i dont like theatres either
Find myself saying "dont watch me eat" - prefer to eat alone & secluded in the dark. nope- this sounds like a deep emotional issue- maybe you've been criticed (cri-teekd) on how/what you eat, and you just cant let it go.
no, i dont think you are OCD. OCD would clean the bathroom an hour after they just cleaned it, or check 10 times that they closed something or did something. i think you are just too uptight- burn a lil and relax. :smoke:

well the cleaning issue can prob be viewed as an ocd, others just seem to be phobias
as for me i can never put on my left sock or shoe on first always has to be the right foot first
i'll never walk through 2 stationary objects like trees or traffic signs if possible to avoid, like most business have those crash poles in front and there's no way to get inside the building without walking through so i guess thats how i rationalize it
always have to put in my right eye contact 1st
not sure if its ocd but i'll leave the apt and in the time it takes me to walk to the car i wont be able to remember if i locked the door and have to go back
now i know its an ocd if you sit there and lock and unlock repeatedly but i dont do that i just cant remember if i locked the door
when doing laundry i have to wash them by category, underwear and socks only, pants or shorts only, and tee shirts and shirts only, towels by themselves
those are just a few i know i have more

I'd say you've got problems. A glove to pump gas? Shopping carts?! You're just making your life unnecessarily difficult.
You're a total germaphobe. Which isn't good because our bodies need to get germs and sick everyone once in a while to build up our immune systems.
Avoiding them altogether does more harm than good.
