Who was the last member to be "Put on Vacation" here?

Has it happened to you? I know i was vacationed at least twice here maybe three times

I think that I am among the very, very, very, very, very, infinitessimally tiny portion of the posting population here on RonFez.net who have never been put "on vacation."

Typically, I censor myself before I post.
Except for the once or twice a Mod has needed to step in and remind me of the rules in the FAQ.

Or if it's attacking Matty, then all bets are off as long as it's funny.

King Hippo was recently on vacation.

I have never been on vacation. I think 95% of the members here have not either

Wha?

The site has about 30000 members. I'd say of that 30000 members, about 200 have been put on vacation permanently. Of the other 30000, I'd probably say only about 1000 of them have taken vacations.

You talk like everyone gets banned for a time, which is simply not the case. Even with our differences, the mods are very fair about who gets banned. They have the most hands-off modding of any of the boards.

OK, so maybe I have a distorted view of my time here. I happened to be most active during a time when a lot of the people I thought were major contributors to the board were being banned a lot. . .because there was a lot of infighting which led to massive flame wars.

I got sick of it and didn't even lurk for a couple of years.

The site was cleaned up a while back, before we went to 2.0 and I heard that a lot of inactive accounts were deleted. . .I remember telling Jon and Jeff and whoever else would listen that my account was more than welcome to be deleted because I had very few intentions of posting again. Maybe it would have been a good thing if I had.

BTW, I don't appreciate it that you're making it sound as if I implied that the Mods weren't fair.

WHERE did THAT come from?

The line: "except for the once or twice a Mod has needed to step in and remind me of the rules in the FAQ" . . . HELLO! Not only did I say it's only happened to me once or twice, but I also said that the Mod NEEDED to do it. It's important that everyone plays by the same rules, so on the rare occasions I overstepped the boundaries, I dropped the issue.

Dude you havent been around long enough between 2002 and 2003 there was a lot of people banned, like Moe stalkers (my favorite was Death Metal Homo), and impactplaya2k1 people from back around that time would remember the vast amount of people who got permanent banishment

FYI: Frietag is actually Tenbats posting under an alternate name he created so he could log in at work.

Between 2002 and 2003 are when I was most actively posting, hence my distorted view of how many people HAVE been banned versus those who HAVE NOT been banned at any time.

I was put on vacation once. It was a technical glitch. I was posting a topic and when I hit "Submit" I got a javascript error. So I hit "Submit", like 13 more times. Well.. 13 posted topics later I found myself on vacation for the night :)

I remember those times, and a lot of those posters were the same people using multiple accounts/proxies etc.

I think 200 permanently banned, and 1000 giving temp bans is a very fair estimation. As always, see my modquote for disclaimer information.

[QUOTE=Thebazile78;1523026]OK, so maybe I have a distorted view of my time here. I happened to be most active during a time when a lot of the people I thought were major contributors to the board were being banned a lot. . .because there was a lot of infighting which led to massive flame wars.

Even with those flame wars, you're acting like countless people were banned when that simply is not the case. You made a point of overexagerrating that you were one of the "few" that haven't been banned, and that's not the case.

In those flame wars, the offending party (and usually there was just one) got banned and that was it.

Going by your post, very, very, very, very, very, infinitessimally tiny portion of the posting population here on RonFez.net who have never been put "on vacation." - you are indicating that 95% of the board has been banned at one time or another. That's a misrepresentation.

It's a distortion. That's the only thing I was upset about.

1) Actual people banned is probably close to 1%, not including spammers and people opening multiple accounts. If Name A is banned, person starts Name B, we just ban B too. If they're really being a pain after that, we IP ban them now.

Currently banned: 26 including epo. If we take out spammers, insulting names made to incite and dupe names, it looks like 2 people.

The banned list was cleared in the 2.0 absolution last Feb.

B) I don't think we ever cleared inactive names. We have some in the database from 2001 that registered and never did anything.

III) If his lovely wife would like to give him a nice birthday present, we could give Senor Fridays a nice 12 hour banning on her behalf.

Nope, you are confusing me with someone else. I've never participated in any Fantasy Leagues since I am not a sports fan. I hate sports unless you consider finding hot girls a sport.

After thinking it over, I realized that if he were banned I would have had to deal with an unhappy Matty and the Pacific Ocean alone.

Not happening.

However, we're going to Arizona for New Year's and a banning might be very welcome then. . .:innocent:

pffft. As I remember we had a very active and fun honeymoon, and the only time I was on the computer was when 1) we were looking for places to go for the day or 2) you were passed out and snoring so loudly you were drowning out the ocean.

I fully admit I have a computer addiction, but as evidenced by the last "I'm in Arizona!" thread, I won't be posting here a lot during Christmas week.

I think the last one was Kevin, in Dougies 'epic threesome thread'. I was one of the few people around here who stood up for him, said he should be reinstated, and he's done nothing but stab me in the back ever since. The rotten son of a bitch.

If Kev ever gets banned again, take my advice and don't try to help him. You'll regret it. Kick him when he's down, spit on his grave, maybe even start a thread celebrating his absence. It's the only way to deal with his ilk.
