I'm stuck at work today, but it's not because of an organizational mandate, but rather someone at work caused a delay on a timely project...causing a backlog of work. Either I work today or the materials don't get done by their due date on Monday.

It's the first Thanksgiving Friday I've worked in 7 or 8 years. The positive is that nobody is here today and I'm getting a bunch of work done because of the lack of distraction.

Yes, I am working today, but it is slow. The last 3 "Black Firdays", I was working at Toys R Us Times Square at 5:30 in the morning and being stampeded by asshole customers. The first year I did do a couple of radio inverviews (the one for Fox News actually had me say something they chose.).

I know there are other people who are working today besides me. Everybody in my office decided they didn't want to work today so I had to come in at 7am (my normal start time is 3pm) I am NOT happy about this at all. I am exhausted and I want to just crawl back up into bed. I could hardly keep my eyes open the whole way up here. The only thing that was worth it was the New York City skyline in front of the sun rise, it was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. I would have gone in, but it's hell driving a manual when it hurts to move your shoulder). My dad's company actually gave bonuses if you didn't take any sick days. I probably wouldn't have used any if that was my company.

i've never understood why people get upset over new year's eve. unless your job is till 11pm or you're working the overnight (i did that once and it was depressing as fuck) how is it an inconvenience? how early do you need to drink?

I drive a long way to get to work, and get home around 8. And I feel like shit cause I worked all day and spent an hour or two in the car dealing with idiot drivers. I don't feel much like doing anything at point (as with most nights when I work).

Yea, it boggles the mind. The PATH is a short ride no matter where you're going. I understand if you're taking the 6 train to the Bronx or Q to Brooklyn... but you're usually about 10 mintues from most stops on the PATH. No need to stake territory!
