I am sure a post relating to this has been posted or maybe not, this is only one of my few firsts posts. I was able to listen to the boys yesterday driving back home from my family's home and was totally moved and motivated by Ron's Thanksgiving talk.

I have only been listening for about a year and a half but with Ron's feelings on Thanksgiving, the things he said really made me think. I believe he is as real as you can get and knows what actual people go through, not famous folks or semi-famous people but just people like you and me. I almost lost someone very close to me this year and am actually watching my grandfather go away from me day after day. Ron's message helped me and helped my grandfather. We know to be thankful for, not just the day when we awake yet also the hour or minute you are in. Those 30 mins. of a TV show, that you and a loved one loves. Those are the moments. That is what life is all about and those are the moments that define us a people in this fucked up, cynical, and desperate place we live.

So, sorry but, it's easier to tell the people I don't know. And thank you Ron Bennington. One has never been able to put feelings so understandable as that man.

happy holiday to all

He said something incredibly poignant when he was talking about the show bring people together. I think it was, "When you share a sense of humor, you can get through anything". Or something close. Whatever it was (and I'm a tool for not remembering it verbatim) - the sentiment was very moving to me.

Very much so. Thank you for understanding. I enjoy this show because it is just a real show. Just something for real dudes to listen to and feel for or with.

I'm actually going to be recording a lot of what he said to play for some people who have never heard the show. It was some great stuff. I also liked when he said that, if you're a listener of the show, the only reason you're not in the studio on that day is that you don't live close by.

Ron's words on the Thanksgiving show were extremely moving. It was great to hear a side of him we rarely, if ever, hear.

Great first post, too.

You think Ron's words were touching on Thanksgiving,
just wait until Christmas, just before Chrissie Hynde plays them away for another year.

Their are few men that I admire in this world. That said, before I met Ron he became one of those men. Now that I have been lucky enough to be welcomed into his second family, I am sure of my admiration.
The man on the radio is only eclipsed by the man in real life. I have never met someone that makes me want to read, watch and seek out new media and information, as much as Ron. If our films succeed, I will always remember that The Ron and Fez show was the first mainstream media outlet that welcomed us. I hope to be able to live up to his expectations of us and always make him proud.
I will be a Ron and Fez fan forever and will always remember the thanksgiving we spent with them.
PS
Ron, you will never be in a room where you are not the most educated.

Not to be redundant, but it was a very moving episode, and the boys really do have an impeccable talent for blending humor into and around poignant moments.

Thanks guys for digging what i was saying. I was reluctant to post due to some other boards related to XM 202 and how they treat people who rarely post.

Another poster (forgive me for not knowing the name) brought up when ron said if you aren't in the studio then you just don't live close enough. That was a very telling piece of Ron because I believe he isn't just blowing smoke up the listeners asses. I really believe that even though me being from SC if I was in NY, I would be welcome to the show. Thanks alot guys.

ron saying that might be the best thing anyone has ever said about their fans

that line made me feel less like a listener, more like a friend

i hope ron, fez, dave, earl, lilly and all the guys had a great holiday

thanks drjoek. Ya'll cats are much more in tune with real life and people than most of the other boards i post on( cough cough, wackbag, hrrumphh).

And to Ron, keep giving us the gospel. It's like a Springsteen show but on xm202.
Coming to NY in December, looking to hopefully check out the boys in the studio or at least meet some of these famous fans i hear so much from every day from 12-3.

write to Lily or Pitzy at RonandFez@aol.com and tell them your plans. Theyll hook you up, especially if you mention RonFez.net!

Seriously, screw the other boards, this one is the best.

Thanks guys. Hell yeah. You guys keep it real funky. Thanks for the info cris. Awesome.

and by the way my favorite part of the thanksgiving holiday is the news. They cover the stores opening on "Black Friday" and all they show are fat people being trampled trying to get some dumb toy or something. God is makes me laugh to see those dummies being trampled at 4am to save like 7 bucks on some silly toy. I dont know, I love it.

Hopefully soon I will have my first blog entry up on the assassination of public figures because of private thoughts. please check it out. hope it won't be a complete disaster. I'm an aspiring writer and maybe it will give me some practice. Thanks guys.

always funky

Yeah Man, I thought had an almost heart to heart conversation with everyone in that studio and all on the other end of that satelittle feed. It's probably been said before and may even be a too often used comparison, But, Ron feels like an uncle You go to see when You need some words of motivation, and who may not think twice to go kick some ass with You if that last resort is called for. The thing is Ron, whether through experience or nature, is a smart dude. I had been getting very serious on the lessons imparted by Joseph Campbell (The Power Of Myth) for a long time & I think Ron mentioned Him and His famous words, "Follow Your Bliss," earlier in the year.....And Man, OH MAN!!!!! I almost lost it.
All that said, I was touched by His words and appreciate the guy greatly.
