I find it hard to believe that some people here didn't find that discussion interesting. And for those don't vote because they don't like any candidates, his suggestion to start a movement to switch to independent is a real viable idea to actually make a change.

True, yeah he's on the libertarian tip, so I'm sure they would see eye-to-eye on most issues.

I called in too late as the show ended, I wanted to ask Lou when the US economy will implode because of the national debt. The debt keeps rising past record levels yet the economy keeps doin relatively well. I makes me wonder when Dick Cheney said "Regan proved deficits don't matter" if he might have been right.

I started a thread to that effect and got my ass handed to me. Creating a viable 3rd party, and possibly expanding to multiple parties, is the only way our Democracy can survive IMO. Our system has grown stagnant and needs to adapt or die.

The 3rd party idea always gets thrown around but it seems impossible within the current state of campaign financing, too expensive to compete. Whereas Lou's suggestion is to just show both parties that you don't identify with any candidates and by increasing the number of registered independents, maybe by the next election both parties might be forced to put up a candidate that you can vote for.
