i heart buffalo sauce. i cant help it- i put it on everything from eggs, to mashed potatoes, to fish, chicken, pork, sositch, steak, veggies, etc: everything except ice cream and cheerios.

As far as hot sauces go though, Frank's isn't hot enough. I love the Tabasco Habanero, or sometimes I'll pick up something from the Mexican market.

You're like me, you gots the restaurant size from a warehouse store. I get the regular Franks Red Hot in a 3 liter container which I keep in the fridge to fill up the the small container when it runs out.

How does the buffalo sauce compare to the regular hot sauce?

i love franks...people always tell me to try those other less known ones that are like 20 bucks and always taste shitty...franks has it perfect...also use it for my homemade wing sauce with a few adjustments...

also i wish i could try it on so-sitch...but i forgot jimmy dean is only for southern people

Generally, Buffalo sauce is just hot sauce with butter or oil (in other words, fat) added to it. Of course, a lot of good Buffalo sauces do more than this, but the basics is just to fatten up the sauce.

sounds right...when i make hot sauce its usually regular franks...then butter,garlic, and vinegar added

edit: i guess it would just be easier to buy franks buffalo sauce now that i know they make it

Thanks for the kidney punch offer, but unfortunately I keep my keg of franks in the fridge and I use that to refill my refillable bottle in my nice warm cupboard. Otherwise the keg will go bad before I get all my refills. I used to keep the keg in the cupboard too but when my franks fermented into a hallucinogenic, I had a 5-hour long conversation about the origins of the universe with a buffalo chicken burger. Since then the keg has been in the fridge.

i buy the little bottles with the squirt top: my wife does not use it nearly as much as i do.

i use it like some would use ketchup or musturd.

Don't know? The sauce that I use (Texas Pete) has very little calories and almost no fat. The butter thing is news to me, not saying that its not true just wasn't aware.

One would think that. The irony is that my previous diet consisted of mainly fried foods and foods with high carbohydrates. I could shit through a screen without issue. I thought that I may have had IBS. Now I eat high fiber foods and use a lot of hot sauce and my bowels are very regular for the first time in probably 10 years. Sorry if that was too much info, but you brought it up.

If a restaurant is making wings from scratch, they usually fry some plain wings, throw 'em in a pan with Frank's regular Red Hot and butter, toss 'em and serve 'em.

That new Frank's Buffalo sauce must be the original with some fat added to it. I doubt they would use butter, as it is expensive and unstable, so it's probably some jacked-up vegetable oil.

I've made wings at home, substituting olive oil (not EVOO you slag) for the butter, and they are just fine. Really, EVOO (dammit, Olive Oil!) can be substituted for butter many times out of ten.

Very hot buffalo sauce or hot sauce in general is fantastic for hangovers. A friend of mine told me that when he has a bad hangover he eats the hottest buffalo wings he can find. I tried it and if you can keep the shit down it does work. I think it makes you sweat the drunk out. Hot sauce has many uses.
