I seem to be throwing up 1-3 times a day. I'll be fine, then i will have this attack where my guts turn inside out. This has happened at work a few times, and not only is it embarrasing and unsanitary, but it is scaring the crap out of my students (developmentally challenged). My boss keeps sending me home, even though after the attack i am fine.
I am afraid that I am going to lose my job over this. I received a warning last week for taking off when i didnt have sick days. they sent me home today but it still counts, so i'll be getting another warning. 3 warnings and i am out.
i am also worried that this is something serious.

Do you have anything that covers a medical leave?
I know here you can take a medical leave of absence short term and if necessary take long term disability if your condition warrants. The down side is that it is at approximately 70% of your wage.
It sounds like it's worth taking some time and having it looked into.
Hope everything is okay.

I am going to the doctor today (it is cheaper than the ER and less waiting). I plugged my symtpms into a web site, and it could be anything from and ulcer to kidney failure to congestive heart failure. I'm thinking its the latter because it seems to be triggered by exersion (exercise, digestion, stress, anything that might cause my heart to work harder). WooHoo! tell fez and ant that i'mjoining the stent club!!!!! ;)

Well, I'm not a doctor, nor do I play one anywhere except in little kids' backyards, but are you having any other heart problem-ish symptoms? If not, it's probably ye olde stomach being a jerk...a couple years ago I started getting hit with really bad stomach probems coupled with REALLY bad chest pains. I was convinced I was gonna be dead before 30 until my doctor figured out I had horribly bad acid reflux that was tearing up my insides. It can do all kinds of things, including making you puke your guts out, and it's typically stimulated by exercise, stress and certain kinds of eating. I'll bet it's something along these lines...fortunately, they've got really strong and eays to take medications that can help control this.
Good luck!

i had the same thing happen to me puking couple times a day...finally went to a digestive specialist and i had this thing where my body wasnt digesting food fast enough...so it would just sit in my stomach and eventually get forced back up...nothing really serious...take a pill each morning and i'm fine...a good temporary cure that actually worked for me was doing a shot of apple cider vinegar...dont know why it worked but it usually did

1) appedicts is going to blow, go to the doctor
2) pedicle flap of the stomach is immobile, go to the doctor
3) bleeding ulcers. go to the doctor.
3) inflammation of the stomach lining (infection, h.pylori, abnormal growth) go to the doctor
4) obstruction of the pedicle flap. go to the doctor.
5) vertigo. you can have a inner ear issue that is telling your brain that you are moving when you are not, this will cause the vomits. It also causes vomits when you are active. Go to the doctor.
I hope you have gone to the doctor and got this straightened out.

DUDE!!! I have had this for years and especially the last 7 months. I wake up in the morning and need to puke foam? not food just foam. It happens two to three times a day. I have been told that drinking a lot of water helps dilute whatever makes you puke. it works for me when I have the option to sit and drink two Mickey D cups of water.

Looks like I'll be posting more during the day. I lost my cookies at work again today. They decided to put me on unpaid medical leave. Not getting paid sucks, but at least i keep my insurance.
The diagnosis is: Acid reflux combined with a previous condition (copd) which exacerbate each other, causing continuous vomiting. They put me on Nexium on tuesday. so far it hasnt helped much

i had a similar problem around 10 years ago. i would vomit without much coming out, but thats because i really wasn't eating much. i couldn't stop throwing up, but overall felt okay. i went to the doctors and they took a whole bunch of blood tests and stool samples checking for things like ulcers. nothing came back. i threw up like this for about a month and lost a good bit of weight. it then stopped but came back for about 2 weeks around a month later. haven't had it since, but i have terrible reflux. Prilosec has helped me a bit.

man I am sorry to hear what happened at work. I have definitely had to hide at work. I have become pretty good at puking quietly. So sorry. Now though it just ruins my life. Right now I am waiting to throw up before I go out so I can have a good time with out worrying. Our environment and stress levels are causing issues that doctors don't have real answers for. I have been in and out for years and now just said fuck it. I hate doctors and more so when they have no answers. good luck with yours.

Feel better!
I, err, knew someone who had a similar problem. Stock up on plenty of J-Ello (not the red in case they want to do tests) and soup. The person I, err, knew said he felt much better if he stayed upright and often slept in a recliner... with a puke bucket by his side.
So, I guess we'll have to push back that post-holiday Indian feast get together?
