Have you ever had that odd impulse, drawn to do something dangerous and stupid?
In my wife's car there is a cigarette lighter right next to the radio, only the actual lighter isn't there. So there's just the open port. I can look into it and see those two prongs.
So sometimes when i'm driving i'll think "i wonder just how bad it'll feel...?" Then I get stuck on that thought for a while; glancing from the road back to those prongs. I haven't done it, i'd probably crash the car if i did.
I guess it's like what fez said once, how he feels drawn to the edge of a bridge and feels pulled to drive right off. he never has and probably wouldn't, but there's still that impulse.
anyone have something like this?

i've had urges when driving 60 to 80 miles an hour to just whip the wheel and see how many times i can flip the car, and they were 'strong' urges.
also had urges to jump off the roof of our 4 story apt building growing up. also to scale the railing off the 12th floor patio in a highrise in Ocean City
and for some reason I'm almost convinced that i'll come out unscaved. like with the falls I would roll once i hit the ground to break the velocity/impact

All the time. I even think the same thing about the cigarette lighter all the time. Its the whole "Do Not Push The Red Button" thing. All you want to do is push the button.

Many times while speaking with super attractive women I will have the urge to embrace and kiss them, but I never do it. Sometimes while on an elevator behind a woman with long silky hair I have an urge to touch her hair. I dont know why. Id never do any of these things, of course.
I also have the feeling when on a bridge what it would be like to be plunging off it towards the water in my car.

when i was a kid, if i was ever on a ski-lift i'd have an almost uncontrollable impulse to drop my wallet and cash, knowing i'd almost never get it back. i would always be freaked out by the time i got to the top.

that one hadn't occurred to me, but now that you've said it, i'm sure that's all i'll think about from now on...

No need to worry, you'll never be able to reach the prongs. Too deep.

Almost all of the fire exist doors at school can be opened without an alarm going off. So when im out somewhere and i see the same type of door i immediately want to go through it, even though i know the alarm would go off on them.

i always think if i drop off, would i live, could i land it, and ski away? i really think it would be cool to ski down through the trees beneath the ski lift. i have the urge right now.

I'm always tempted to touch my tongue to a 9 volt battery. I live life on the edge.

I did that when I was 3. I never did it again.
Sometimes when the PATH train or a subway train is coming into the station I often feel the urge to jump in front of it.
Good thing I drive to work now.

I used to think that I could make the leap between the narrower platforms at Jamaica station and if I had to, if my train was two platforms over, Id be very tempted to try it.
I used to hang out on the train tracks with my friends when I was a kid and theyd dare me to touch the 3rd rail, so I did it one day and nothing happened. I used to do it to show off, ...until the day I also touched the track at the same time. Not good! (I didnt die, obviously, but it was quite the stimulating experience!).

When people get too close to me i have an urge to <s>headbutt</s> puke on them.
Fixed it for ya.
winston churchill said he always had to stand at the back of train platforms because otherwise he might jump in front of a train at the last second.
i feel like that sometimes.

When on the highway, doing like 80 mph, sometimes I have my hand on the shifter and wonder what would happen if I jammed it right into Park. I think MythBusters did something like this.

ALL the time. My biggest one is when I drive over a bridge. I ALWAYS think "I wonder what it would feel like to go off the side of this in the car" I never want to do it, but for some reason, I'd really like to know how it feels. Same with hitting someone full swing in the head with a baseball bat. I could never do it, but whenever I see it on tv or something, I always wonder how it feels

I didn't see mythbusters about it, and I don't know for a fact, but based on what I do know, I would think you would just blow the pin on the transmission. The car would jerk slower for a sec but once the pin is gone its like bein in nuetral

this is why some psychologists believe that there is no such thing as "being afraid of heights
what those people are afraid of is that they will act on a feeling like this (an impulse) to jump from that height...makes a lot of sense if you think about it

So arachnophobia isn't actually a fear of spiders.
It's a fear of wanting to cuddle with spiders.
