I'm a volunteer firefighter so I've been around a bunch of pretty bad ones. I've responded to two different accidents involving a decapitation. It seems like once every couple of weeks there's a bad one we're heading to. Most Recently:
This was the train Vs. Car accident where the guy turned on the tracks because his GPS told him to. This is what was left of his Ford Focus (luckily no one was injured).

That's when you look out your windshield and call crap on your GPS!
The worst I was ever in was driving a girl back to school during a snowstorm. We passed accidents left and right. Then coming down an incline, the 'ol Camry started to spin. Probably spun around about 2 or 3 times before hitting the guardrail. We were OK, just shook-up... untill I went out to pry the body away from the front tire. As soon as I stepped out of the car I slipped and fell on my back. The entire highway was coated in a thin layer of ice. That hurt.

I rolled my car at 110mph, I was WASTED!!!!(I do not condone Drunk Driving)
My at the time future wife, was away, so I went to play with the boys, after consuming a VERY large quantity of alcohal, I went home....
I passed this car, and hit my cars goverened top speed of 110.
I then decided it would be good to take a corner at 110, I honestly almost made the corner, I skidded on the shoulder, went 180 and was looking back from which I came, I thought OK cool, will hit field and then be fine.
Well I was wrong, car hit field, and started rolling, landed on the wheels after 4 or 5 rolls, I tried to drive away, car was still running, but little did I know the ball joint was out and thus the axle disconnected.
I looked for my phone, being I was only 2 miles from my house, and a truck pulled up, the man was talking to 9-11, and informing them of my location.
I took off and hid in a wooded area until I could make my break to a phone and call buddies for a ride.
I ended up with 5 or so tickets, but no DWI, I only ended up with 2 tickets in court,

I herd the story of the Car Vs Train. We laughed and Laughed at that. its why I wont get a GPS. I AM A HUNTER!!!
I skidded and rolled my car off the side of a six ft embankment. I climbed out of the car and was amazed I lived...and yes I was drinking! It was really dumb but I was given a booty call and when the cops dropped me at the chicks house...she had passed out. I was out a car and no poontang!

no harm no foul...I am very glad I did not hurt anyone. I have a right to be an ass towards myself, but when others are endangered, it is wrong.
I dont drive drunk or even buzzed anymore, it is not worth the legal risk, even though I did drive impaired many times after this incident. I have never even been pulled over drunk, although I did take off a few times.

Kinda looks like my car after my accident which completely mangled my knee and fucked up my back. I ended up with a meniscus tear and other severe damage, this was a few weeks before 9/11 so it was in august of 2001 and I ended up just having to deal with the pain ever since. Only thing that could help would be knee replacement surgery but the doc advised me against it cause I was too young, anyway it still hurts to this day but im used to it.
The whole "life flashing before your eyes" thing, its true.

The band let me learn to play again with only one arm, and we put out our most succesful album ever. Silver linings!

The worst accident I've ever been involved in was pretty much the only one I've been involved in (thus far). It was December 2006, and I was on the service road along Route 3E in Jersey, waiting to make a turn on the highway. It's either in Lyndhurst or Rutherford, I forget. Anyway, if anyone knows the area I'm sure you'll know how much of a bitch it is to make that turn, since people don't know to look up from what they're doing to make sure no one is in the way. You might get an idea of what I'm getting at in a second.
I just got back from getting my heater finally fixed in the car. It hadn't worked for years, and multiple attempts to fix it always resulted in either smoke or cold air blasting in my face. But I was glad that I could go home without a blanket around me or a towel in hand to wipe of the condensation on my window. Anywho, I'm waiting to make this turn (my dad went ahead of me and was about to get on Rt. 3. He came along cuz my car has a tendency to stall at traffic lights and other stopped positions. It was a POS), and for about 3-5 seconds I am at a stopped position. All of a sudden I am slammed from behind and sent into the oncoming traffic lane of the service road (luckily no one was coming). After being pushed about 50 or so feet with my brakes still on, and pull over and see this SUV had just rammed the crap out of my '87 Escort. Long story short, I was ok, the lady that hit me only had a baby a few days before (she was ok), and my car ended up being totaled. My one and only means of transportation gone. GDI.

a somewhat head-on collision, the other driver lost control and skidded into our car sideways. i never saw him, never hit the brakes, being it was dark(2 a.m), he had a dark car, and being he was skidding sideways i never saw any headlights, and he was traveling at a very high rate of speed.
the other driver died, his passenger had internal injuries, i lost 7 teeth and some jawbone, stitches in hands, knees, mouth, lips, and an ankle that stayed swollen for at least 3 months. my now ex-wife hit the windshield, lost an eyebrow, 200 microstitches to the forehead, a chunk of meat out of her leg, and a herniated disk

Oh man, that's terrible. The story made me shake. This is why it annoys me when I hear people on the air bragging about how fast they go, or see people driving like maniacs on the highway. It's really selfish. Today they replayed the Jill Nicolini (sp?) segment for Jimmy's birthday and she talked about how she drives really fast and got into 6 accidents over the last 2 years. That's INSANE. Honestly, I'm much more concerned with erratic fast drivers than I am drunk drivers, and I bet they cause more accidents overall.
Man, I really hate those jerks that weave in and out of traffic. Like, how many times are you forced to slow down when they randomly decide to cut you off and change lanes. I always think, "what if I maintained my normal speed or decided to speed up right now? I'd hit this guy."
