I thought today's show was great. I love it when the curtain gets pulled back like it did today. Don't get me wrong I feel bad terrible that Fezzie had his feelings hurt so bad that he had to leave but I did find the burst of anger that burst out of him refreshing. I was also captivated afterwards when Ron had an on air "talk" with a crying Dave. I understand that the show is a comedy show and that they try to keep things light but when something like that happens you have to step back and go wow.

I am not saying either way. At that point and time it was as real as can be. And thinking back, it still is.
If it's a bit, fine. I'm a rube. All I care is that today I heard some GREAT radio.

realmenhatelife

I totally hate the obsession with having to call out 'bits' as if you're going to earn points for 'not being a rube'
I only heard this once, initially it struck me as legit, I'll listen to it again and see what I can pick out. I wasn't trying to decide whether or not it was a bit the first time around, I was just enjoying it. Do you guys watch tv and go 'oh cmon guys, ed oneil isnt even a shoe salesman.'

I dont think this is out of the realm of daves behavior, I dont see how it benefits the show to do this as a bit, and I think it goes in the opposite direction of where they seem to want to go this year.

I'll reserve judgement but I can think of things right now that make me believe its not a bit. On Tuesday, if the midnight rider is in studio, I have no problem saying that I marked out for the show. If this is real will all the guys saying 'bit' be willing to say they were callous?

thejives
01-11-2008, 02:59 PM
I'm so enraged I had to work today during the show.
I didn't hear any of this.

However, I have noticed that the XM show tries to pull the curtain back much more than previous incarnations. Whether it's planned or not, I think it all comes from a real place. And that helps make it more intense.

Plus, I don't know if anyone else feels that way, but sometimes I feel like the fake way I interact with 99.9% of people is more of a bit than real life. And yet, that's what I live all day.

So sometimes some creative license can get closer to the truth than real life.

Okay you guys have convinced me.

Dave getting hired two years ago was a bit, they just picked a random message board poster (I heard Phat Sunny was going to be it if Dave turned it down). Midnight Rider, Casey, and coming child have been added to the bit to make it more believable. And now here comes the payoff...to get Fez's face smeared in a piece of pizza.

All I know for sure is a guitar signed by Bob Dylan was a causality of this bit and for that Ron and Fez should be sorry.

it was funny today when they were talking about tv shows they watch and Ron made a comment about "Leno and Kimmel" that he couldn't watch it because it was just two guys sitting around talking. my first thought was " what do you think your show is, it's 4 guys and sometimes a girl sitting around talking " it made me laugh and obviously the Ron & Fez show is helluva lot funnier and more interesting than Leno and Kimmel

I think this is punishment from Ron for the shitty radio that Dave gave us with the Slaveboy/master act. It was terrible. Ron and Fez probably talked about it during a break, then Ron might have given Dave the idea to push Fez (Devil's advocate style) and ta'dah! Now Dave is getting raked over the coals by a lot of people (Hayseeds Inc.) and perhaps, just perhaps he will learn not to make any more bets. Hey, just a theory.

Whether or not it was a bit yesterday, I went through a wide range of emotions.

I harken back to the days when I was better known as Team_Ramrod, one ESD got voted off the show.
I was so furious with Mr. B for rigging the vote count!

The same thing happened yesterday, at first I was angry with Mr.B for siding with FFB all the time and hammering on Dave.

Then Fezzie got upset and Mr.B tied into Dave even more. That's when my allegance had changed, once Fez left I was 100% Benningtonizzzzed. I wanted him to go at Dave harder than he had ever gone before, Mr.B was my evil persona (who I am to my wife when she pisses me off and I want to make her cry).

I loved the show yesterday, the ride and now the wait for Monday morning.

I'm indifferent to whether or not it was a bit, this happening just embedded the fabric of the Ron and Fez show even deeper into my skin.

Although, I haven't had time to step back yet.

Speaking of the time Dave got voted off the show. I totally fell for that one too. I feel like such a rube I guess I fall for the bit every time. I figure it must be a bit because they were eager to discuss the event after they got back from the break. The other two times when the show got real, the time Ron and Fez got super angry and screamed at Earl and the time Ron got the phone call on the air that led to a "best of" were never spoken about once they got back on the air. Hopefully they are setting us up for some super bit like last years Dave as the Rider.

My hope for Monday's show and going forward... replace ESD with Lily and sheepy.

Enough with the childish retarded psycho-babble.

You want ESD gone, and replaced with a Athiest Muslim and a badly dressed Retard?
Wow. Harsh much, you two?

which part of the bit are we questioning whether it was a bit or not?
the beginning of the pizza bit?
the walk of bit bit?
the esd defending the bit bit?
or the bit in the end when he was doing the crying bit bit?
or this apology bit about the other bit?
and how did pits not know you need a masonry bit to drill into brick?

makes me miss al...really.

mikeyboy said there was a special segment (http://www.ronfez.net/forums/showthread.php?t=66259) aired to address the "tension" on the show.
did anyone catch it, and want to sum it all up? I tried to look for it in the listening threads, but couldn't tell what i was looking for.
