That was after the fact, and that was the point that EVERYONE turned on Mikey D. It was that + the East Side Dave stalking that really ticked people off.

yeah, that was it. Lenay called Fez to ask him to come. Fez believed Mikey put her up to it, so turned her down. It was cringy stuff. Bobo cried.

Mikey D made attempts to make up, but those didn't come out so well. Fez thought that Mikey used used his daughter, Lenay, into guilt tripping him, and that opened the wound wide open again some time later.

When they got to NY and XM, O&A played the clip, and it seemed for awhile that Mikey D was going to be back on the ins. He had been part of the original "mock" show - Lenay was coming into the studio - and after Fez had the heart attack in Nov 05, after one disasterous show where Fez left, he let there be a mending of the fences. The Christmas Party of 2005 all seemed back on track. There was even the great "he broke his dick" story.

Anyhoo...shortly after was the Poison tickets and then getting involved in Gap (which somehow shit-canned the screening R&F had set up last year), which led to Fezzie rerecording Lenay's intro, it all seemed back to "nemesis" role. Not sure how much of this is a "shoot" now, though...

For someone who wanted to be an intern with the show, he knew very little about them. The thing that completely negates this song was the way Tender blubbered on his final R&F appearance. The thing that killed me about Tender's final appearance was that if he just expressed himself better it would have gone much better. Had he just said "Guys, sometimes it feels like I'm a b-level friend of the show. What can I do to become a-level?" he'd probably still be in.

As for the birthday meltdown, what made me crack up was Ron describing Don the Hypnotist coming in to the studio at that moment in a great mood. He stopped in his tracks and didn't say a word as the ice cream cake in his hands slowly melted.

Fez is extremely sensitive about certian things, this being one of them. I never understood the problem.

It's too bad, they seemed like pretty good friends both on and off air.

But once Fez digs in on something he doesn't ever seem to let up, so I doubt things will ever go back to the way they were.

I heard all that stuff when it went down and i thought Mikey D came off like a total asshole who got a little too big in the head for the show and used his kid as some sorta meal ticket.

Also I really think he showed how scummy he was with the whole "Stalking ESD" situation. I thought it was pure jelousy for Dave position on the show........either way i don't miss him.

Additional context that came out later was that Fez was really pissed off because Mikey D had kept planning on just coming down and staying with Fez when Fez was clear he didn't want the company because he was still sad about his grandmother. I *think* Mikey D had said that he thought Billy WAS coming, and..well... I can't remember all of that.

For those who think Fez was too mean, etc, the whole context for all of this came back to "entitlement," which he talked about on the air all the time as to being the root of what was pissing him off.

(I think it is also fair to assume, with 20/20 hindsight, that the pressure to leave WJFK in March of 2005 might have been cresting and helped contribute - there is an allusion to it)

An interesting tip-in - during the "meltdown" show, there were a lot of birthday wishes by phone, including one from Lenay, Mikey's daughter, and another by Mikey's wife Helen, and those went pretty well. I don't think anyone was really surprised to hear Mikey when he did call.
