View Full Version : The snow storm and Paul-O's wedding.

Things are not looking good out there. The roads are empty except for us suckers who had to come to work and things are only supposed to get worse by tonight with it turning into both a snow and ice storm by evening.
Is this going to have an impact on everyone who is coming in from out of town for the wedding? I will know by 4 if I will be able to make it in but if things keep up then I may just have to watch it on Pal Talk.
Mr. Mikeyboy, how can we let you know if we need to cancel for weather reasons? If things stay bad or get worse I would like to give my entry card to someone else, no reason to hold a spot for me if I am not going to be able to make it. Will 4 PM work for a last minute switch or will everyone already be there getting things ready?

Well, on LI there's like 4 inches on the ground already and it's still snowing. If it stops soon and they clear the roads, it should be all good. If it continues all day or turns to sleet/ice, it's gonna suck.
CruelCircus
02-22-2008, 05:21 AM
Yeah, I'm going to LIRR it, too. I think I'll drive to Hicksville or Mineola where there's a garage to park in. Plus, I think now I'll be getting a hotel room. I was on the fence about that. Rather deal with the roads in the daylight than in the middle of the night.

It's not so much the weather, it's the road conditions and other drivers. Ever since Corzine has been in office, the Turnpike authority has done a shitty job of keeping the turnpike clear.
WFAN just upped the snow amount from 1-3 inches to 10 inches.

Same with me. Ever since I ended up in a ditch a bunch of years ago driving in the snow is not something I like to do.
Just last week I was stuck in that storm and driving home at night on a highway with no lanes defined, trucks barreling past you, and hot shots swerving through everyone.. tonight looks to be more of the same, sucks as I was really looking forward to this.
Mass transit in NJ also blows, I'd have to drive a half hour just to get to a train and then getting back would be a pain as the trains stop running quite early.
Sadness everlasting.

But seriously, big shout out to everyone who I met last night. it was my first Ron and Fez gathering (even though I've been here 7 years!) and I'm glad I went, even if the weather but a damper on things. I was dressed as a certain Delorean-driving time-traveller for anybody who didnt met me

It was a lovely, mild winter night in NYC. The weather was perfect for walking around or standing outside. A bit of slush, but no icy roads. A fun time.

Yeah, the rain washed away most of the snow, and since so many people stayed in, the roads actually turned out to be pretty ok.
Btw, I also loved the Joker costume. Good work.
Glad to see everybody who did make it.

I did not dress up (lazy) but was relieved I didn't go out of my way for a costume when not many others did either. My friend went as Paul O from Caddyshack. He worked all day on his costume despite the fact that he is a waiter in real life. All in all, it was a fun night! Thanks to all the friendly people I met.:drunk:
