I don't think all conservatives hate him.

sponsored McCain/Feingold
voted against the Bush tax cuts
is pro-immigration

All lightning rod issues for conservatives, and he's polar opposite to their core beliefs. Dobson said he wouldn't vote for him, Rush campaigned against him, Coulter hates him.

So who's left?

So who's left?

I think those three are the "more conservative of the conservatives" I was talking about.

I guess my thought process is that he wouldn't have won the Republican nomination this easily if all conservatives hated him. Also, what's his stance on abortion and gay marriage. Those are "core beliefs" and I thought he was in line there.

Hearing those numbers makes me want to move to Europe.

The Harris poll I cited, it was the best I could find doing a quick search:

The Harris PollŪ #52, July 6, 2005

Nearly Two-thirds of U.S. Adults Believe Human Beings Were Created by God (http://www.harrisinteractive.com/harris_poll/index.asp?PID=581)

=

a new national survey shows that almost two-thirds of U.S. adults (64%) agree with the basic tenet of creationism, that "human beings were created directly by God."

At the same time, approximately one-fifth (22%) of adults believe "human beings evolved from earlier species" (evolution) and 10 percent subscribe to the theory that "human beings are so complex that they required a powerful force or intelligent being to help create them" (intelligent design). Moreover, a majority (55%) believe that all three of these theories should be taught in public schools, while 23 percent support teaching creationism only, 12 percent evolution only, and four percent intelligent design only.

Ugh.

I didn't hear it. My Inno headphones aren't working anymore, and my reception is spotty.
I did hear you making a lot of sense at the end of the call, as usual. I think the intricate and mystical workings of the universe can't be fully explained by religion or science alone. You had me at "Einstein."

Also, I believe in panspermia. What do you think about it?
