Also complement the scent (not really him - that would be gay) and mention that you like it and you think your GF/Wife/etc. would really like it if you got some to wear.

Do it right and the question will come out as a complement and legitimate interest in the cologne. Do it wrong, you may have a new boyfriend or get dragged to HR for sexual harassment.
