I Feel like Bragging

Well maybe not bragging perse BUT there is something really super fantastic that i am partaking in next Saturday through my school and since i havent told my parents and really only 4 people know i felt like sharing it here for some huzzahs.

So on Saturday i am going to be joining a couple of my professors, another student and some other person to sit on a panel at the MAWSA (MID-ATLANTIC REGION WOMEN'S STUDIES ASSOCIATION) conference at Penn State-Abington.

My professor came to me about 2 weeks ago to inquire if i would be willing and would want to have a seat on the panel. (They're doing a multi-generational look at W.S. at our school). She said that i would be the youngest of all the women partaking in the panel and would like my view on issues going on at our school.

So in short i am fucking PSYCHED because this is going to be pretty badass as well s look amazing on my transcript. The only part is that i am going to have to address an entire room of people (I loathe public speaking) who are like a billion times smarter than i am.

Still, i felt like gloating, i mean sharing :]

Anyone else have something they're particularly proud of? Post it!

Just kidding -- that's great news and you should feel like bragging! Your professors obviously think highly of you. I too hate public speaking but it's a lot easier as part of a panel than giving a solo presentation. If you can articulate your thoughts and opinions clearly here, you'll do just fine at this conference.

And DEFINITELY add this to your resume.

As far as the public thinking goes just pretend you are posting outloud. To be serious though (in school I was a speech tutor) remember that you were asked to do this because you have input on the topic. Breath while you think and as much as you can relax. Last bit of advice, have fun with this. You are obviously a smart chick (Women's studies joke intended) and you will do well. Best of luck. :bye:

i am sure most of them are not that much, if at all, smarter then you. just make sure you prepare and be confident and you will do awesome. also try to make as many contacts and you can, get business cards, and send follow up ass kissing emails. if i could go back to my college days I would have done this. it opens up SOOO many more doors when you graduate.
