Ron and Fez'z Praise of O&A

***Disclaimer: Im not bashing O&A or "running down our buddies" like Ron would say.***
Id just like to fully understand why R&F (mainly Ron) bow to O&A so intensely. I know that O&A were instrumental in bringing R&F to WNEW and I can understand the gratitude for that. Were O&A as involved in bringing R&F to XM? The 2 shows could not be more different in every way, yet Ron acts like those guys are geniuses and seems to get upset when his fans arent fans of O&A. Ron kinda hinted that the O&A show is in a better position these days than the R&F show, due to the merger I assume. But is it really possible that R&F feel they belong playing second fiddle to O&A? It just always bothers me when Ron gets pissed at callers for not liking O&A, when I cant possibly imagine him listening to their show and actually finding it funny or entertaining. I know Ron wants everybody to be friends and thats totally cool, but I cant be alone when I confess that I love R&F but do not enjoy O&A anymore. Im not suggesting R&F bash O&A or ignore their existence or anything (I realize they are co-workers and "share" 202). I have always liked how R&F dont really get involved with attacking other radio shows. I just do not understand the praise and pedestal that R&F put O&A on. I dont mean to start shit or offend O&A or their listeners. Maybe Im just annoyed and bitching because the O&A show is so much more popular and I just do not get it.

I think you have it backwards. O&A were instrumental in bringing R&F to XM. I am unaware that they had any involvement in bringing them to WNEW.

Other than that, your opinion is your opinion. Is it really that hard to fathom that R&F could be friends and fans of O&A? I don't think so.

I don't think I can add anything more to this thread other than to reiterate that there are really no examples of your supposed "bowing", and conversely the relationship the two shows and its members share is really just a good friendship in addition to a strong cooperative pseudo business relationship.

And I'm sure this is why Ron doesn't tolerate callers hating on O&A... it's not in anybody's best interest to create a divide between the two shows. O&A and R&F can benefit immensely from friendship and loyalty. In a world where our kind of talk radio is under constant scrutiny and attack, it pays to stay strong in numbers.
