Stop acting like its a waste of time/money. By giving away freebie you get plugs and walking adverts that lead to further business in the future. It ultimately HELPS you and your business to give away 3K a years in goods and write it off as promotional losses. Thats not a case thats going to work with anyone who knows business, or took a business 101 class.
Isn't it obvious what to do to stop the attacks....just remove the links! Second of all, dungeons and dragons is a fucking monster game with goblins and stuff, Mafialife is all about pretending to be in the MAFIA. there is a huge difference there, and a completely different genre.

There are not many in this community who are friends AND salesman. Its not easy, but i fucking like you guys, and i love this show. And i enjoy giving back i really do.

Thats your call to make. But telling people how they should react wont help your cause.

My initial feeling about the reaction to this thread was that people were going overboard in going after Chris over this baby pool thing. Sure, he could have posted threads on all the boards and had people post their guesses in those threads, but in order to prevent people from picking the same times, that would have been a logistical nightmare. I really didn't have an issue with STI letting people know that they had a baby pool and people could participate if they wanted and maybe win a prize. However, Chris' responses in this thread got under my skin a bit.

If there is anyone who deserves those fucking links in thier sigs its me man. I would unconditionally support anything alot of you guys put out there if asked to. I do not appreciate getting shit on. If i sold lemons and you called me on it, i would totally understand being shit on.

When fluffernutter put his R&F prints up on ebay, they were snatched up quickly as well. Neither of those guys said anything about all they've done for the show/boards in order to get people to buy. They just put their things out there and appreciated the support. I've gotten support for things I've tried to do over the years here. I've never expected it, but I've always appreciated it.

The fact that this is your living doesn't change anything. Most of the people here work in some capacity, and there's no expectation that we have to patronize X's bar, Y's law firm, Z's store etc. I wish you well in your endeavors, but no one should be felt obligated to support you. If you do things to support or fund things, unless there is some express agreement as to what you'll get in exchange for your support, you can't dictate what people will do in kind. Bottom line, the support is there. When you expect or demand it, you're going to turn people off.

I had a poor perspective on those things. Terrible habbits. I should not expect anything when i am giving, you are 100% right.

I thought i had the salesman/friend seperation thing all figured out but perhaps i do cross mix the 2 and confuse myself sometimes. There is a huge difference between paying for radio ads and expecting the 30 second plug or commercial to air properly or the deal made privately or whatnot where id give this, and in return would get that, etc...

Sometimes i am so used to paying for the advertisment and creating the "deal" for whatever the payment is supposed to bring that it carries over when i give something away or donate to friends. I should not expect anything when it supposed to be given out of the goodness of the heart for the fans of the buddays.

I will soak this in, and look to turn over a new leaf here. I am a victim of mixing business with friendships and i neglect to realize it wont always turn out the way id like.

Maybe you don't welch but following through is clearly not your strong suit. You told me in those PMs to hold on while you changed vendors. I dont even know what a paypal email is. For those who cared enough to post about it, but not discuss it, I am glad it's a closed issue. I never denied falling short of chasing the refund the registry company refuses to give me.

I would never have chosen to discuss this publicly. I just wanted the readers to know the details, so they did not assume I don't pay up.

Perhaps the bottom line is that the 2 recipients I was a little bitter that the item funds were not refunded to me after they told me they didnt have the item. It was not cheap.

Now, I feel really bad about this. I will find out what happened regardless, for my own reasons of guilt, andmake things right.

Again, if I was wrong in handling this topic this way, I apologize. I do agree the baby, and being happy for Casey, Dave, and Julianna is way more important.
