I think - not sure - I THINK - that the 360 uses a standard DVD drive. If you're out of warranty and already got your RROD fixed, it's a repair you can do yourself.

We're playing it right now. Could only get the one we preordered. About 50 people at Blockbuster, They were all waiting in cars until I stood by the door at 11:50, then everyone lined up. There is a 3 year warranty for RROD. Not sure if it's a RROD? Thats ok, just head over to the Xbox support page and fill out their repair form and claim you have a RROD. They will send you a box for you to ship out.

Granted, I know it's supposed to be dark, but it's annoying when you lose Niko and can't find where he is or what direction he's facing. I can't see shit at night and frankly it's a little discouraging since I never had a problem seeing at night in VC and SA.

I always had problems seeing "in the dark" in these games. It got worse with my HDTV.

Yeah, I knew about those settings. I did up them a bit which made it a little better, but not much. I'm afraid going too high will make the picture looked washed out.

I did read that on the PS3, if you have it set at RGB Full (which I do), you should set it to RGB Limited instead. I'm gonna give that a shot later.

Driving is hard and not the cartoony-ish driving of the other ones and the braking is tough to get done, that and the view you cant see over the top of the car for the most part meaning i crash into lots of things, and i had to switch to the classic controls because stupid saints row had me all screwed up

I played about 2 hours last night. Fun so far.

I have to above with the above where it's tough to see over the top of the car at times, and I try to lift the camera a bit, but it sinks back down as you drive.

And I did Bleed Out, the first time I just beat Dardan to the ground and it said get back to the car, which I then promptly destroyed. When I redid the mission, I had the knife, cut him down quick and happened to hit kick just as he was getting up and it told me to get back to the car, sending him thru the window.

I think it's also interesting that the missions now branch. I was about to pick up Michelle the first time when Roman called, so I picked her up thinking Roman's mission would be there when I was done, but it spawned a different mission to pick up Roman.

I gotta say that I also liked the brighter palette of the previous games. Sometimes it's hard to see things in the textures for me, especially at night. I may need to adjust the brightness a bit, but things just blend at times for me.

It was hard to drive back, but I made the move and got lucky. I was thinking because she didn't really drink she would shoot me down but it worked. Playing pool also worked with her.

A few things I like to do (I don't cheat)

First, I made the mistake of trying to cross a bridge on foot before it was unlocked. BAD IDEA.

I also prefer resisting arrest and getting shot up rather than arrested. That way, you don't lose your weapons.

After playing COD4 a while, I find the controls to be weird on GTA. I keep pressing the stick to sprint. COD is clearly and FPS, and GTA is more sim. Both are awesome, at what they do.

If your PS3 locks, up and / or your game won't load, log out of PSN and it should load. There is some problem with the online connection that is causing the game to freeze while saving or loading. Similar deal with XBOX. Apparently Rockstar is working on a fix

Actually, that's a question I've had... Does the autosave actually work right so I can go multiplayer/turn off the console and when I load back up pick up after that mission, or do I have to drive down to the safe house every time I want to quit? I've been driving to the safe house just to be safe.

Rented this on Saturday as my finances are a bit tight (amazed to find it in stock). Enjoying it so far, made it to the second island but for some reason it's not grabbing me quite like GTA3 and Vice City did. San Andreas was the same way I played it for a while but just didn't keep me coming back for more and more so I sold it after about a month.
GTA IV is definitely a great game though just not as groundbreaking as GTA3 and I loved the 80's setting of Vice City.

GTA San Andreas was the only GTA that was able to keep me interested all the way to the end of the game... Vice City's driving was unbearable for me to get through because you only had one perspective you could watch... and I couldn't beat the part with the suicide bombers in GTA III.

I wish that people we know from 202 would get bigger roles in GTA- maybe next edition we'll be taking missions from Mr.Bennington+ friends.

I am usually pretty good at games but this one just seems different. I get one shot killed by a pistol by a guy across the screen. Or i am shooting a guy from across the screen and he kills me while i am hitting him from the same area but have body armor on.

Last night i was playing and put two clips from my machine gun into a guy from close range and he didnt die?

So does anyone else think there are a cheaters online or do i just suck.

Just try the cop pit move and just put pressure on the back end of the car, just be patient following him, they will usually make a mistake driving giving you the opening

Since guns and fire don't work, I am going to try to pin here against a concrete wall with a car. That way, even if she is immortal, she will be stuck. Then I can torture her, and shoot her in the head repeatedly. Then I will just leave her pinned, and see what happens.

I don't think you have to shoot the window. I think you just pick up a brick, throw it thru the window and the mission is over. L1 on (PS3) picks up a brick, L2 to throw it. It shows you where the brick is on the map.

It just cuts to a cut scene about her calling you crazy or something and she goes home.
