This fall while I was in Jordan it was Ramadan so there wasn't much to do during the day and even less to do at night. So I was in my hotel and there were really only 2 channels in English. One was Dubai One, which is basically a bunch of American shows with Arabic subtitles. They showed Desperate Housewives 4 times a day and I totally got into it. Eva Longoria is beautiful and the show is actually pretty clever, especially by today's standards. Marc Cherry, the show's creator, is a gay Republican and you can see a lot of his own internal struggle with his own conservative values, his personal life, and society clashing. For a primetime soap opera, or for any show for that matter, it's actually quite good.

It's taken a hit since the strike, but they still win their time slot.

Another story on my love for Desperate Housewives:
While I was in Alabama for training, a Hollywood Video in Montgomery was closing and I got Season 2 for like $10. I watched it, ashamed of myself, then gave it to my mom and played it off like I planned it for her.

I'm busy making dinner while she's watching it in the living room yelling at me about how some guy from M*A*S*H is on the show for a tenth of a second to say "hey, you're a bitch" *doonk donk dinka donk donk* or whatever that stupid noise is that plays after practically every 2-3 lines of dialog.

I fucking hate that show.

I do like Carlos tho. He reminds me of Steve Carr.
