I haven't watched the show since the 3rd or 4th ep. Has it stayed wretched?

wow, well, it can only help. this season is certainly better than the second, but not by much. that article i posted in a previous schedule was pretty much on target with what i think needs to happen to the show.

So they finally get around to providing a little back story. Of course much needs to be filled in but at least we see what occured with Arthur and Angela. We also see how Sylar got kick-started. I wasnt happy to see that Bennet is really a heartless soldier. Earlier he was portraid as the honorable one fighting injustice. Not sure where they go from here, the cliffhanger showed Arthur taking the best of all powers (hiro's) and with those, i really cant imagine how he could be stopped. The only living person who can stop Arthur seems to be the Haitian. But with mind reading, and ESP and god knows what else..the Haitian cant sneak up on Arthur.

That Elle is very good looking.

i think we just have to assume that part of his telekinesis is the ability to cut open heads. if he can move things he should be able to move the skin and skull like an invisible knife.

Thats the difference between Heroes and LOST.
LOST has an end date - so by knowing there are 32 more episodes to play - 16 in 2009 and 16 in 2010...we KNOW the answers are coming.
With Heroes, there is no end in sight and producers have to drag out to earn money. The show may not even be renewed down the road if viewership continue to decline.

Does anyone else think The Haitian has the best "presence" of all heroes?! He's rarely in a lot of episodes, but when he does show up, he's almost always appears from the dark backgrounds and no matter what type of power you got, you can't do shit as long as he's around.

This episode made me realize just how much I hate the Fonzie-fication of Sylar. In the first season when he was just a presence more than a character he was terrific. The canage left at the house where Parkman found Molly made him seem like an out of control monster. Then that was contrasted with his apartment, which was discovered by Mohinder which had " I'm sorry" scrawled all over the walls.

Then after he was fully seen and introduced he was an even more interesting character, through his capture, escape, deception of Mohinder and the amazing episode where we saw him return to his mother. His performance was creepy and subtle. This season I feel like i'm watching the Broadway musical version of Sylar. Everything is big sweeping movements and overdone facial expressions. Blech. I like the character and all, but i would have been much happier if he'd stayed in the background instead of becoming a major player.

I think all of the depowering/repowering/ressurection/killing/switching sides this season is giving us no one to care about on the show. It's like they have a huge gimmick event almost every week. And as usual something has to be done to remove Peter and Hiro from the equation so that they don't end any conflict in .0034 seconds. Matt Parkman is a victim of this now too. Sonce he gained the ability to control minds, he had to be knocked out of contention for 4 or 5 episodes.

Not exactly sure I like that Angela was able to manipulate Arthur that easily. He's supposed to be the most powerful one of all, yet all she had to do was put a suggestion in his head and he let her go.

She was in the future when things were changed so she was supposedly wiped out of existence along with that timeline. There is no proof of that she is gone, but Peter is apparently stupid and never bothered to see if she was actually gone and just assumed she was.

And - Damn it! I really hoped they were going to get rid of that whole Nikki-related line in favor of a twin sister. Maybe they will do the right thing and leave that storyline for online or comics.

I read an interview with Tim Kring recently where he explained why they haven't acknowledged that Irish bitch this season. Summed up, it was because of the writer's strike. that bothered me the least. If we know what a psycho his dad is, it is quite possible he would take them shooting - and shooting all sorts of stuff.

Exactly. It actually reminded me of an X-Men story sometime in the 80's or 90's where Wolverine lost his mutant powers and couldn't heal. mohinder isnt powerless he took the catalyst version of the serum, so whatever he had before with scales is gone but whatever powers he had he still has

claires fire mom had fire power not the ability not to burn as far as we know

so far all we've sen is him fly and he still has the scar so im guessing he just has the flying unless he hasnt realized that he has all his powers

1) Absolutely hate that HRG can never decide what side he's on and is now working for that scumbag Nathan.

2) Really like how they "reinvented" Peter. Glad he will be able to regain other powers, but at least he now has to do something physical to gain them aside from just walking past someone. Will get extremely annoyed though if he moronically doesn't touch Claire to gain her ability.

BTW, I know it's all for show... but as far as I know, planes like that do not fly at the same altitude as commercial jetlines, and at the altitude they were showing in the cockpit window as they were going down, there would be not enough explosive decompression to take a seat and rip it out of the plane.

Also, since Claire could access the main cabin from the landing gear well, the plane wasn't completely pressurized. Come on...

I was thinking exactly the same thing RE: the plane. And after the initial few seconds of "woosh" where the pressure escapes wouldn't the pressure be equalized and quit sucking people out of the plane? Sure, you could get pulled out by the rush of air, but it shouldn't be a prolonged vacuum affect like they were portraying.

Also, I am now waiting for a crossover with "Lost" to form a single, mega-hit series called "Lost Heroes."

Correct. That was the whole point of the plane crash last night, Peter was using Mohinder's super strength, but then accidentally touched Tracey and absorbed her freezing power. After he absorbed Tracey, he punched one of the guards but it didn't have the same power behind it and then he froze the back of the plane.


BTW, I know it's all for show... but as far as I know, planes like that do not fly at the same altitude as commercial jetlines, and at the altitude they were showing in the cockpit window as they were going down, there would be not enough explosive decompression to take a seat and rip it out of the plane.

Also, since Claire could access the main cabin from the landing gear well, the plane wasn't completely pressurized. Come on...

EDIT: Correction, the C-130 does fly at 33,000 feet... but I still don't think it's pressurized like a regular airplane...

I have a spoiler prediction for the end of this season. Peter has some final confrontation with Nathan in a very public place. He takes Nathan up very high and threatens to throw his brother off to test his loyalty to his cause. He said that he can breathe underwater, but discovered it at a swim meet when "he didn't have to come up for air"...

Those are two distinctly different things. Can he actually breathe water, or does he have gills?

i feel like the team leader is way smarter than we are lead to believe; and since there is a list of every person that has this genetic make up i would assume that Nathan would be on it.

So we have a problem with the standoff in the Hunter's apartment.

If the apartment is on the East Coast, Peter aparently flew coast-to-coast-to-coast (in order to rescue Parkman) in less than 30 minutes.

mrs. Petrelli had the ability to see the future of someone; Sylar killed some chick that worked for Mrs. Petrelli, that had clairvoyance, and see the past of someone. i like the thought of an unstoppable force, though i am still pissed he has claire's ability to never die, which negates the entire first two seasons. at any rate, he is can still be stopped by Peter. Sylar also isnt using his powers like crazy because he is being watched by people that want to catch him, he's being cautious. of course, it would have been smart to have used that power.

I thought the whole Daphne/return of Mrs. Parkman storyline reeked of a writer who just didn't like Daphne. I still feel that way, but the writing at the end of the episode turned it around for me. Really well done ending to that chapter.

Outside of that I thought this episode was better than the last few, but still pretty bad with a lot of inconsitencies/unanswered questions.

Tracy isn't dead - it looked like she completely changed herself into ice. When she was broken apart she was still alive (notice the eye blink). She will eventually be able to pull herself back together and "come back to life."

Like when Peter somehow rescues Angela from a building that she randomly escaped into after she was on the run for most of the episode. Or when they clearly show us that Sylar has entered Danko's apartment, left a rabbit from his father and is hiding behind the wall waiting for Danko, and then next episode, morph it into someone(probably Sylar) leaving the puppetmaster tied up for him.

If you want to watch a show with continuity or plot gaffes and not pay attention to them go ahead. The fact that I point them out in the middle of a thread where the show is getting roundly trashed shouldn't make you try to single me out.

Fair points my man. I was thinking that about Peter and it is logical to assume that he could track his mother via the air. But with the clandestine nature of her movements in this episode and the way he would need x-ray vision I just couldn't buy him magically appearing in the elevator. I might just be nit picking.

As far as the Danko/Sylar interactions, it just seemed to me like they had two different scenarios between the two episodes. One with the rabbit and one with the puppetmaster. I'm sure they could find a way to dovetail both of them together, but I don't have enough faith in the show to think that they'll address it at all.

i just looked at the scene again and they dont show him touching Sylar. the only thing that i can assume is that Sylar let himself be touched, and put the shifter in a trap to catch and kill him.
