Paul O Update

I just got news from Melly via Christopher Robert on what has happened to Paul O since the end of today's show. I've been given permission to post this update as well. Apparently the police did arrive and had to break down the door to get to Paul. He's been admitted to the psych ward of St. Joseph's Hospital. They will likely keep him for a few days. They are running tests to see if he took any pills in addition to the alcohol. I'll pass along any updates as they arise.

I really don't know what to say. He was fine the night before when I talked to him on the phone. I haven't listened to the show since March so I don't know what he has said on there. I do know that the only time that he has been drunk in the last year is when he is on the air. He told them a couple of months back that he would only be available for the show on Thursdays and I found it quite convenient that he was plastered at that exact moment. I really think that his only real problem as far as the drinking goes is that he wants the negative attention from the show. Since Gail died he no longer has his "entertainment value" he feels. He has tried to get me to go on the show and be an asshole and I just am not interested. When he was on Ron and Ron he used to do a bit where he drank as much as he could during the show on Fridays. I think that he wants that type of attention again.

He does suffer from depression and has some other issues. Maybe by this happening he will get the help that he needs for those. Unfortunately, they will probably treat it as an alcohol problem, which it is not.

I'll try to keep you updated, thanks for the love.
