Morning kids.

I like the way Naturman handled his booing... reciting Hamlet. Wish I could have gone to the animation show. A lot of those things were fantastic.

It sucks that they booed these guys. I can't say too much about Naturman, because I've never really seen him, but Russ Meneve is hilarious and deserves better than that from a New York crowd. They need to get him in studio.

can't they use copyrighted music and just pay royalties? i trust that their legal department knows more than me, but this has me really confused. like they can play the music on their show, what's the difference in putting it somewhere else that people will pay for it?

Cuz XM doesn't want to shell out cash for the show. Opie's rant about it point to that.

Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. If it were OK as long as you didn't charge, videos of TV shows, Movies, etc. on Youtube, Veoh, etc. wouldn't have to be taken down.

I think everybody just wants their own payday...

Del's a car salesman these days, and actually was recently sued by Ric Flair for using the "To be the man, you gotta beat the man" catchphrase in a commercial.

As far as ownership of the Patriot gimmick goes, it's a bit murky. Brandi's been using it for a while now.

oh shit they musta been scared. O&A would be fired from CBS and XM immediately if he killed himself.

Brietbart would grab just 30 seconds of audio from the old "is tom alive" bits of constant jokes about him killing himself and neither companies would even bother with a warning. Every major media outlet would play it over and over. No squares would ever get the context of that bit.

But did they not expect that this is exactly how this would eventually play out?

Unfortunately the lawyers decided it's in the corporation's best interest that Tom never be heard on the air again. Imagine if the one thing that would have kept him going was a visit to the O&A studios and the lawyers said no, then he decides to off himself because he didn't get his final wish... How would the suits feel then?... They'd feel nothing as usual! O&A (and especially Jimmy) did a great thing today and the suits can't see the amazing upside in helping this guy. All they're worried about is a possible lawsuit that might occur if he kills himself three months from now and utters "CBS" or "Opie And Anthony" with his final breath. They could save a man's life and they choose not to. I don't blame Opie for his hatred for the corporation.

I'm sorry, but IMO Anthony sounds like a complete a-hole when he bitches about taxes and paying for social programs. And the whole "Obama is going to start all sorts of new social programs" is a retarded argument.

I agree that the system needs to be revamped and there is a lot of waste, but STFU if you have more than enough to live on and just don't want to pay taxes. I get taxed to death and I DON'T have enough to live on.

Anthony's political positions are utterly ignorant. Obama is, at most, slightly -- very slightly -- left of center. He has as many ties to big business as anyone. He's not a socialist. There will be no widescale redistribution of wealth.

Some of the Bush-era "tax cuts" will probably be rolled back, but even Anthony isn't rich enough to really notice.

That's kinda not fair Matt. Just because he makes a lot of scratch now he's not allowed to have that opinion? Sounds like he's just against the principle of it, even though it's not hurting his pocket the way it may hurt you or me, and I don't think there's anything wrong with that.

Exactly - His views on this are based on his own racism and fear.

He can have any opinion he wants, but so can I. It is my opinion that he is wrong - the more you make, the more you can afford to pay in taxes. A Flat Tax would be a better option, but right now the middle class is carrying the burden and it is slowly killing the country.

I agree that the current structure sucks and that we are paying far too much in taxes because the government spends like a bunch of drunken sailors on shore leave. The system needs to be fixed, so why not work toward fixing it instead of bitching that "I am wealthy and pay too much- fuck the rest of humanity." When you say stuff like that, don't be surprised if "humanity" says fuck you back.
