amen brother. I'm not ready for this East Coast humidity in June. I plan our vacation in August so we can avoid days like today.

I hate the heat but, I looove walkin' around NYC in the summer. The hottie factor goes up to eleven. Every variation of beautiful can be seen walking on any random sidewalk.

I say: BRING THE HEAT.

That is a very common problem, I try using the vent clip but the fricking thing won't stay up. My GPS also melts off my windshield on a daily basis. How in the hell did it go from being unseasonably cool in May to being hot as hell in June :devil2:...where was the in between?

Mine will be for about five seconds because I just got out of the showers.

Showers rule and suck at the same time in the heat. They feel 800 times better because it's so hot, but it creates the illusion that it's like 20 degrees cooler when you first get out...then five minutes later it's fucking hot again.

Showers are cockteases.

I used to use a vent clip, but the radio would get really hot in the winter and really cold in the summer. I doubt the AC would hurt the radio, but I always worried the heat would.

The kids had a half day of school today due to the heat. I picked them up at one and then we changed and jumped right into the pool. I came inside just now after spending most of the day swimming and lounging around sipping Coronas. Oh, I also grilled up some nice lamb chops for dinner. I don't get it. If you guys are so hot why don't you jump in your pools too?

Yeah it does if you have the Inno or the Helix, the ones with rechargeable batteries. My Inno will quit charging itself if the unit gets too hot from sitting in the sunlight all day.

i don't think my landlord would appreciate it if i installed a pool in my apartment. i'm thinking about filling the bathtub with cold water and splashing around in there, but it would probably be a bit disappointing...

Here's a pic of my delivery car's dashboard. I thought she was going to blow today.

http://i121.photobucket.com/albums/o217/themarshal/Temperature.jpg
The outside temp says 101 degrees. I saw it at 103 degrees in Cream Ridge coming back to the office heading south on rte 539.

Right after I took this pic, the temp gauge fully pegged out into the red. I had to shut off the AC, turn on the heater and let the heater core blow the excess heat away from the engine. It went one of two ways today:

I was cool running the AC, while the car was on the verge of blowing up.

I was sweating like a pig while waiting for the temp gauge to go down so I could roll the windows back up and run the AC again.

It's a 2002 Subaru Legacy. 245,000 miles on it. We use it as a "loaner" car while our primary delivery cars are in the shop getting serviced.
The reason my car is in the shop? The AC konked out on it for the third summer in a row.
Mine is a 2004 Outback, with just over 185,000 miles on it.
The drivetrains are terrific, but the nickel and dime shit these things put us through don't justify the cost of running them long term. But they keep running and mine still gets 26 MPG.
But today I was really tempted to let go of the wheel and make her eat a telephone pole.

Have you flushed the coolant recently or replaced the AC consendser and radiator?

They don't last forever. I don't know much about Subarus, but I know certain vehicles (like older Jeeps) were made to run hot. When I had my Cherokee I replaced the thermostat so the cooling fan would kick on at 180 degrees and not 210 as it was set at the factory.

This one is old, and we think the water pump is shot. But since it is the old lady of the fleet management doesn't want to sink a lot of money into her. We flushed her out and replaced her thermostat. This phenomenom only begins to appear when the outside temp goes above 90 degrees. On a day like today, if you baby her real nice, like accelerate super slow up to the speed you have to be at, and keep the overall RPMs 2400 or less, she can make it. In the wintertime, she's terrific.
