View Full Version : Why Don't You Listen To The Show?

The last couple of days I've seen some people say that they don't listen to Ron and Fez. Silly me thinking all members of RonFez.net would also be listeners of Ron and Fez. So I have a question why don't you listen to Ron and Fez?

I don't listen to the show live since I don't have XM. But I listen to the show from the stuff in the file library.

I think there are a few other message boards that lead to or link up with this one..It's possible that people end up here inadvertantly and like what they see, so they stay..

To these people I say...Go get an inno you cheap pricks!

I usually listen to (a portion of) the last hour on my way in to work,

If you sign up for an online subscription to XM it's $2.99 a month for the first six months then reverts to the standard cost of $7.99 a month.

I know these are tough economic times, but I refuse to believe someone can't afford $2.99 a month.

I can find that in the cushions of my couch.

PEOPLE WHO HAVE JOBS CAN'T LISTEN TO THE RON AND FEZ SHOW-EVEN IN REPLAY.

Don't wanna pay for radio, and their shitty timeslot and replay schedule makes it even more unappealing since R&F are the only reason I'd get XM.

I love the show, but between being a fulltime student and working 24-32 hours a week on top of that really doesn't leave much much time to listen thanks to the boys getting the shaft in terms of when their show is aired and replayed.

Hopefully someday soon things'll work out.

I enjoyed that part of listening when they were on WJFK, and I thought I'd hate not listening live. But I actually love it. When I listened live, the way my job works, I'd get to listen for 10 30 minutes, then miss 10 to 30 minutes. It really ruined the flow of the show. Now, instead of missing chunks of it, I just hit "pause".

Watson, if it were just the matter of hearing RnF, we'd be done. This goes long beyond that. We've built special recording machines, built logarithmically perfect antennas, laid underground cable...to hear this show. There's a lot of history here. Unless you travel to work at noon and midnight, you may suffer our same plight...

Seriously, what is the problem if I'm a mod and don't/can't listen? It's not like I hate the show. I'm pretty much only a mod to help out mantaining the board here or there. I was a regular listener for many years up until last year when I moved and went back to school, which is why I stepped down from being a mod before. The staff asked me to be the forum mod of the politics forum because I'm a regular there and had been a mod before. They asked me to be a "full" mod agan for a short while a short time ago while a couple of the other mods were away and then let me stay on after that. What is "real strange" about any of that?

And hey, since I'm not taking a summer session and my quarter ended last Friday AND I'm off the next few days, I'm gonna be able to listen. Now nobody can complain when I go on a random ban rampage.

I guess I'll never be a mod. I haven't listened to the show "live" since it left FreeFM. I DL bits and clips from the board now and then. I think Ronfez.net has surpassed just being about the show and has spread out to many different areas or whatever but the core will always be R&F. Sure it would be nice to listen to the show but some people can't for whatever reason. We got the messageboard here which is like the R&F newspaper and read about the drama, the gossip, the comics, and other stuff. RonFez.net knows no bounds.

From the end of the WJFK days until about the end of last year, I could probably count on one hand how many times I heard the show. Either I was busy, overseas, or otherwise unable to listen regularly. Nobody seemed to notice or complain and I like to think I still Modded fairly effectively and fairly.

Besides, only Mojo can run that Politics Forum.

I don't think it's sad at all, the board is about more than the show, for good or bad. There was a period where the vast majority of the board was not able to listen (allegedly) because R+F were only on in DC. So the people that stuck around cared about the board even though they couldn't react directly to the show.

It has definitely become a habit for me. If I miss the show live, which I will usually do partially for lunch, or occasionally totally, I have to catch a replay or find another way to listen to it.

I probably end up listening to each show about three times between live, replay and recorded on my Nexus.

It's like an OCD, if I miss all or part of a show, I must track it down and listen. I've been listening since they came to XM, but it became can't miss a break radio around Jan '07. It's a rare treat when I hear a Best-of that is actually a show that I haven't heard before. Although with Earl's "Instant Classic" mentality, I imagine that is the case for everyone.

Who said anything about not wanting to listen? I'm online a lot when school is in because I'm typically doing reading, studying, research or writing for my classes in my office at my desk which is where, shocker, my computer is. It helps me stay relaxed to, say, read a chapter or write a page and then hop online for 5 minutes. Throwing on the show, or any radio show, for 5 minutes in the middle of something where I have no idea what's going on doesn't really hold much appeal. I need the quiet when I'm doing schoolwork, so I don't have music or the radio or TV on.

More things that are "sad" or "strange," I guess.

In my opinion the only good reason ronfez.net posters have for not listening to the show is if their ears don't work.

Hear that, folks? Give up sleep, work, school and other necessary aspects of your life for a radio show. Makes complete sense. I love R&F, and I'm glad I can listen today, but I can't wrangle my life around a radio show.

I wasn't informed of that. I do appreciate the info. No more jokes from me on this board. So so sorry.

I can be the one to police the board if you guys want. As long as I've got the time. I'm usually busy listening to my favorite radio show.

I'm banning everyone, regardless of whether or not they listen to the show.

Don't you mean irregardless?

I shall now give up my sub forum and forum mod powers as I have no reason to be a mod if I don't listen.

You have no reason to live if you don't listen to the show.

So why don't you go take your life and job and choke on it you commie, anti-Ron and Fez fascist!

Sadly, I had more time to listen at work than I've had in the week since I started my leave.

I have my Inno, I listen to it with one earbud all day at work, otherwise, I'd lose my focus on my work. Luckily, Ron and Fez are on around lunchtime, when work isn't as busy, so I can catch the whole show, eat lunch, and work, otherwise I'm away from the Inno off and on. For a while, when I didn't have the Inno, I'd try to listen to the replays, but they were too late, so I just would download whole shows and listen to and from work on my iRiver. I still download whole shows if I miss one due to a deadline or something, and I'll download Unmaskeds since it's hard to catch them on weekends.

I just need something to entertain me on trainrides and while drawing/ designing stuff, so, I need the show, along with the Lionel show, the Michael Kay Show, and Garrison Keilor's Writer's Almanac for the five minutes at 11 on XMPR. That gets me through my day.

I never listen live because I don't want to miss anything. I record the entire program on my Inno and then listen right after. It stinks because there have been many occasions when Ronnie mentions eskimos or Alaska and I would have loved to have called in. If anything just to hear some of Ron's eskimo jokes and borrow some of them
